Procedures for 5/18/10

HS 1P/9P (5/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will work on reading their PPT and Lesson 11 text passages. 2) Students will learn characters to express their food preferences.

Homework: One row for each character.


1. 1) Turn in your character assignment, PPT draft #5 and Food Consumption Log. 2) Ms. Chang returns you all papers. 3) Lesson 11 test is on 5/25, audacity on 5/26, PPT presentation then will be on 5/24 and 5/27. E-mail Ms. Chang your PPT file over this weekend. MS semester oral exam will be on 6/2 and 6/3. MS students will take semester exam will be on 6/4 and 6/7 (HS students??). MS students do not come to HS on 6/1 (20 minutes at 1P on 6/1: 2 revised schedules on HS—honors assembly/MS—concert). 6/8-6/10 finals at HS.

3. Read Lesson 11 text passages.

4. Practice your PPT text.

HS 2P (5/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice their speaking skills today. 2) Students will be able to read text passages fluently and answer oral questions.

功課: 1) 中文三: 生字一行 / 課文; 2) 中文二: 課文


1. Seniors: 1) you need to have a passing grade on both 3rd and 4th quarters to waive your semester exam. Otherwise your semester exam will be on 5/27-6/1. 2) Seniors, please go to guidance office to check lists for accuracy.  Let guidance know if you do not agree with the results. All obligations have to be taken care of.  No diplomas or transcripts will be issued if any academic or financial obligations are not met. Some of these obligations include: school fees, activity fees, transcript fees, special class fees, (woodworking/art), books not returned, athletic uniforms etc. not returned, choir or band items not returned. 3) Seniors, return your Chinese II/III textbook on/before 5/28.

2. 中文二: 1) Take one copy of Lesson 7 Supplementary Materials handout, if you have not. 2) Tuesday Sharing. Independent study: 3) text passages on pages 82-85. Read all four pages for audacity.

3. 中文三: 1) Take one copy of Lesson 5 Supplementary Materials handout, if you have not. 2) Turn in your character assignment from last Friday. Your invitation card project is due on this Friday. 3) Tuesday Sharing. 4) Volunteer meeting is at 2:30 this afternoon. Lesson 5 audacity recording is on 5/26, rice dumpling wrapping is on 5/28. Semester oral exam is on 5/24, 5/25, and 5/27. Independent study: 5) text passages on pages 66-69. 6) Learn new characters (, , , , , ).

MS 3P/5P (5/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will start writing their 10-sentence paragraph. 2) Students will explore tangram pieces.



1. 1) Quick review (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei). 2) Return all papers. 3) Unit #3 quiz on this Friday.

2. Pass out 10-sentence paragraph handout / sport handout. Learn terms (xi huan, sui). Go over sport terms.

3. (3P) Showcase more art project samples (craft: pillow, lego, etc). (5P) Showcase art project samples (movies, PPT).

4. DVD: China: The Panda Adventure.
