Procedures for 5/17/10

HS 1P/9P (5/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will continue to learn new characters in lesson 11. 2) MS students will prepare for their semester oral exam.

Homework: One row for each character.

Procedure:

1. 1) Welcome back, MS students. Make sure you turn in your Food Consumption Log and PPT draft #5 by tomorrow. 2) Seniors, please go to guidance office to check lists for accuracy.  Let guidance know if you do not agree with the results. All obligations have to be taken care of.  No diplomas or transcripts will be issued if any academic or financial obligations are not met. Some of these obligations include: school fees, activity fees, transcript fees, special class fees, (woodworking/art), books not returned, athletic uniforms etc. not returned, choir or band items not returned.

2. 1) Take one copy of Lesson 11 Supplementary Materials handout. 2) Turn in your character assignment from 5/10. Ms. Chang returns your work (log, PPT, characters). 3) Chinese Club’s volunteer meeting will be at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon. Chinese Club’s last meeting (Chinese yoyo) is on this Friday afternoon. 4) HS students, make sure you fill in all entries and Ms. Chang assigns credit for your work!!

3. Lesson 11 audacity recording will be on 5/26. Lesson 11 test will be on 5/25. 5/28 for wrapping rice dumplings. MS students’ semester oral exam will be on 1) 6/2 and 6/3.

4. Learn new characters (, , , , ).

5. Read Lesson 11 text passages.

6. HS finish your incomplete work. Ryan V. talks to Ms. Chang after class. Switch your seats so that MS students sit on one side to go over all conversation questions.

HS 2P (5/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will apply Lesson 5 and Lesson 7 content in their weekly conversation practice. 2) Students will study their conversation questions and supplementary terms for semester oral exam and lesson test.

Homework: Conversation questions (oral exam) and lesson passages (lesson test).

Procedure:

MS 3P/5P (5/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will start a new unit (family) today. 2) Students will continue to view China: The Panda Adventure.

Homework: Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

1. 1) Welcome back, 8th graders. 2) Return all papers. 3) (5P) 7th graders take makeup quiz.

2. (3P) Monday sharing. Collect.

3. (5P) Assign 7th graders to work with 8th graders on numbers/Chinese characters. Collect character writing assignment.

4. Showcase art project samples (PPT, movies, craft).

5. Teach new terms (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei).

6. DVD: China: The Panda Adventure.
