Procedures for 6/4/10

Homeroom (6/4/10)

Starting at 1:40 PM today, all students will clean up their locker.Except for textbooks and school supplies for Monday and test days, all other items (food, clothes, & accessories) need to be taken home or thrown away.Decoration has to be taken down from the locker.Garbage bags will be provided.You are welcome to donate supplies that are in mint condition.The school will recycle them for a good cause with the help of Premier Surplus. You need to have Ms. Chang sign off before you go back to 9P class.

Any other permission slip?You have to go to attendance office if you do not have it today.

HS 1P/9P (6/4/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review terms through flash cards, conversation cards and jeopardy game. 2) Students will finish up the story about Ruth Hawkness.

Homework: Study for semester exam.

Procedure:

1. 1) Collect textbooks. If you forget your textbook on the test day, you will not be able to get a textbook from Ms. Chang on test day.

2. HS students (Andrew-audacity, Ryan—oral and PPT) finish up your makeup work in class.

3. (9P only): Finish up all makeup work (Joel—oral, Kayla-PPT, Mitchell—PPT or audacity).

4. DVD: China: The Panda Adventure.

5. Jeopardy game.

6. Flash cards / Conversation questions.

7. Independent work: review flash cards and work on your study guide.

HS 2P (6/4/10)

Objectives: Students will take their oral semester exam today.

Homework: Study for semester exam (MC and writing).

Procedure:

1. 1) Collect textbooks. If you forget your textbook on the test day, you will not be able to get a textbook from Ms. Chang. 2) The following students talk to Ms. Chang, please (Kevin, Michael).

2. Chinese II students finish up your oral semester exam.

3. Independent work: review flash cards and work on your study guide.

4. Michael C. & Alex’s skit, if time allows.

MS 3P/5P (6/4/10)

Objectives: 1) 5P students will finish up their oral presentation today.2) Students will learn body part terms through games and song.3) Students will finish viewing the DVD about the famous Monkey King.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

1. 1) Return art projects.2) Tayler and Dani take quiz #4 test.

2. Turn in all makeup work (art project, etc).

3. (5P) Oral presentation.

4. Teach new terms, song and game (body parts).

5. DVD: China: The Panda Adventure.

6. Follow the leader game.

Procedures for 6/3/10

HS 1P/9P (6/3/10)

Objectives: MS students will finish up their oral semester exam today.

Homework: Study for semester exam (MC and writing).

Procedure:

1. 1) Return your textbook on this Friday. Ms. Chang needs to report to the guidance office the names of the students who do not turn in the textbook on next Monday. If not, make sure you have a textbook on test day.

2. (1P only): 1) MS students take your oral exam. 2) MS students work with Ms. Chang during 6A/6B for all your missing assignments (Lillian—PPT, etc). HS students make an appointment with Ms. Chang for any makeup work (1P: Andrew—audacity/PPT, Ryan—PPT/oral, Ashley, Ericka; 9P: Kayla, Mitchell, Cory, Jeremie).

3. Flash cards / conversation cards activity.

4. Independent work: use your study guide to review for terms and work on sentences.

HS 2P (6/3/10)

Objectives: Students will take their oral semester exam today and tomorrow.

Homework: Study for semester exam (oral and writing).

Procedure:

1. 1) Chinese II students take one copy of sample writing questions. 2) Return all textbook on/before this Friday. Ms. Chang needs to report to the guidance office the names of the students who do not turn in the textbook on next Monday. Questions?

2. Chinese III students take your oral semester exam first. Followed by Chinese II students.

3. Independent work: use your study guide to review terms and work on sentences.

MS 3P/5P (6/3/10)

Objectives: Students will present their 10 sentences today.

Homework: Practice your oral presentation, if not presented today.

Procedure:

1. Return art projects.

2. Turn in all makeup work (art project, etc).

3. Oral presentation.

4. Showcase student art project.

5. (3P/5P) Teach new terms (body parts: eyes, nose, mouth, ears).

Objectives: MS students will take their oral semester exam today and tomorrow.

Homework: Study for semester exam (MC and Writing).

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one copy of Semester Exam Study Guide. 2) Return your textbook on/before this Friday. On next Monday Ms. Chang needs to the guidance office the names of the students who do not turn in the textbook. 3) HS students need to finish up all makeup by the end of this Friday (1P: Andrew, Ryan, Ericka, Ashley; 9P: Cory, Mitchell, Joel, Jeremie).

2. (1P only): 1) MS students take your oral exam. 2) MS students work with Ms. Chang during 6A/6B for all your missing assignments (Michaela, James—PPT or oral exam).

3. (9P only): Finish up all your PPT, oral exam, or audacity.

4. Independent work: use your study guide to review all learned terms and work on sentences.

Objectives: Students will take their oral semester exam tomorrow and on Friday.

Homework: Study for semester exam (oral and writing).

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one copy of Semester Exam Study Guide. Turn in your statements/paragraphs about our seniors. 2) Return all textbook on/before this Friday. Ms. Chang needs to report to the guidance office the names of the students who do not turn in the textbook on next Monday. 3) Ms. Chang checks the completeness of your WB page(s). 4) Questions? 5) Chinese III students will take oral exam first, and then Chinese II students. Chinese II students will get a list of sample questions tomorrow.

2. Chinese III: practice questions on WB pages 51, 52, & 54.

3. Independent work: use your study guide to review all learned terms and work on sentences.

MS 3P/5P (6/2/10)

Objectives: Students will finish up their art project today.

Homework: Practice your oral presentation.

Procedure:

1. 1) (5P) Dani and Tayler turn in your draft #2. 2) Return all papers.

2. Work on your art project, if you are not done yet. Collect at the end of the class period.

3. Have PPT? Submit to O driver Ms. Chang’s folder or upload it from your flash drive.

4. Showcase student art project, if time allows.

HS 1P/9P (6/1/10)

Objectives: Students will finish up their PPT or audacity today.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

1. (9P) Write a few positive comments/words for our senior (Shauna). Count it as your 5 participation points.

2. The following students read/talk to Ms. Chang (1P: Audacity: Andrew, Ashley, Ericka; Test: Ericka; PPT: Erin, Nate, Devon, Ericka, Ryan, Andrew, James H., Caitlin, Kathryn, Adam Y. Oral semester exam: Ryan, Ashley, Ericka /// 9P: PPT: Jeremie, Eddie, Kayla, Joel, Cory, Mitchell; Audacity: Audacity: Jeremie, Eddie, Cory, Mitchell; oral semester exam: Mitchell, Jeremie, Cory, Joel). All makeup work has to turn in by the end of this Friday.

HS 2P (6/1/10)

Objectives: Students will practice conversation questions for their oral semester exam

Homework: 1) Prepare for oral semester exam. 2) 中文三: WB pages 86 (#1-#4) & 88. 3) 中文二: WB page 89 (#1-#5).

Procedure:

1. 1) Write a few positive comments for our seniors (Chinese III: Ray, Rachel, Mike Marefka; Chinese II: Zach, Eric, Kay Leigh, Victoria, Jae-Min, Kirsten). Collect at the end of the class. Count 5-10 points as your participation grade. 2) Oral semester exam will take place on 6/3 and 6/4. All makeup work has to turn in by the end of this Friday.

2. The following students talk to Ms. Chang, please (Chinese II: Kevin, Cecilia, Michael, Brianna /// Chinese III: Marissa, Christina).

3. Independent work: Practice your conversation questions.


MS 3P/5P (6/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain cultural knowledge about Chinese cooking and browse through many cook books. 2) Students will view a famous imaginary character, Monkey King, in Chinese literature

Homework: 1) Finish up your art project. 2) Practice your oral presentation.

Procedure:

1. 1) Art project is due at the end of the class period tomorrow. 2) Oral presentation will be conducted on Thursday and Friday. 3) (5P) Olivia & David take your quiz #2 today. Tayler & Dani (?) turn in your draft #2. One quiz paper is without name. Dani, Tayler, Dev, and Sean take quiz #4.

2. DVD: The Making of Monkey King.

3. Culture reading: Chinese good, seasonings and utensils.

4. Browse through cook books.
