Procedures for 9/7/10

Homeroom Announcement (9/7/10)

* HR Teachers will send violators of dress code to the office to change.  Classroom teachers will note the violation, and report it to Guidance/Administrator offices.  This violation of dress code includes students found/seen in the halls.  The violations in dress depicting weapons, violence, drugs, alcohol, etc., violate the dress code.

* Lunches are not to be taken out of the cafeteria.  If your teacher needs to see you during lunch time, he/she has to wait for you until you have finished eating.

* Tornado drill at 8:15 AM this morning.

Procedure for HS 1P (9/7/10)

Objectives: 1) Learn to write simple Chinese characters.  2) Finish up basic greeting unit.

Homework: Study for quiz on Thursday (9/9).

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quiz on Thursday (basic greeting terms + tones).  2) Tornado drill at 8:15 AM today.  Follow the procedure until it is over.  3) Pass back papers.  4) Turn in homework on time and with quality to earn decent grades!
  2. Review all learned terms.
  3. Dictation on dry erase board.
  4. Introduce the website http://www.chinese-tools.com/learn/exercises/chinese.html
  5. Continue to finish up basic greeting terms (Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo, Shang Ke, Xia Ke).
  6. Review characters learned so far (日, 月, 火, 山, 木).  Learn to write Chinese characters (水, 人, 口).

Procedure for HS 2P (9/7/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn/review terms for polite expressions.  2) Students will review for the first test tomorrow.

Homework: 1) Make sentences (因為…所以, 剛好, 剛剛, 可是, 可以).  2) Study for test tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Points will be deducted if no Chinese name appears on the paper.  2) Take one copy of study guide.  3) Go over study guide and sample questions.  4) Turn in homework on time and with quality to earn decent grades!
  2. Bell work (ways of telling money).
  3. Go over homework: making sentences.
  4. Introduce a website resource, http://www.chinese-tools.com/learn/exercises/chinese.html.

Procedure for HS 9P (9/7/10)

Objectives: 1) Be proficient in telling a week’s date.  2) Students will review for quiz #1 tomorrow.

Homework: 1) 3 new characters (對, 錯, 以).  2) Study for quiz #1 tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of study guide.  2) Points will be deducted if no Chinese name appers o the paper.  3) Return papers.  4) Make good use of the audio file and practice over the weekend.  Replay it many times until you are comfortable with the speed!  5) Turn in homework on time and with quality to earn decent grades!
  2. Check supplies (Benita, Kristen, Heidi, Aashna, Bailey, Pamela, Antonio, Jackly, Jay).  Captains carry out the action.
  3. 1) Pair activity: with your calendar worksheet, practice saying 7 days’ dates in Chinese.  2) Go over sample questions.
  4. Introduce a website resource, http://www.chinese-tools.com/learn/exercises/chinese.html.
  5. Teach new characters (對, 錯, 以).

Procedure for M

S 3P (9/7/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will showcase their mastery of basic greetings unit.  2) Students will start to learn numbers.

Homework: Review learned terms (numbers: 1-6).

Procedure:

  1. 1) Kevin, Elaine, Weston, Eric, Daniel, and Ryan turn in/complete your character assignment/reading packet.  2) Return papers.
  2. Quick review.  Quiz #1.
  3. Teach new terms/new Chinese characters (numbers 1-6).

Procedure for MS 5P (9/7/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will finish up a writing assignment.  2) Students will showcase their mastery of basic greetings unit by taking their first quiz.  3) Students will gain geographic knowledge about China.

Homework: Review all learned terms (numbers 1-6)

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review with expressions and tones.  2) ) Take quiz #1.
  2. Write simple characters (木, 口, 中, 大, 小, 石, 土, 天).  Collect for grades.
  3. Introduce a website resource, http://www.chinese-tools.com/learn/exercises/chinese.html
