Procedures for 9/10/10

Procedure for HS 1P (9/10/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will systematically learn consonants from today.  3) Students will gain knowledge about China’s 4 major folk arts through viewing video clips.

Homework: Review all learned sounds and characters.

Procedure:

1) Quiz #2: Thursday, 9/16.  2) Turn in your reading packet / 14 characters writing assignment, if you have not.  3) Helpers needed for (Jack, Paul, Ellen, Abby, Abdussamad) to learn 6 more characters.  4)  Return papers (characters and reading packet).  5) All grades have to be in by 9/20 for Interim report cards.

  1. DVD: Chinese civilization and arts (calligraphy, painting, New Year’s pictures, paper-cut).
  2. Go over Pinyin foundation and bpmf handout.

Procedure for HS 2P (9/10/10)

目標: 1) Students will plan to write/perform a skit.  2) Students will be able to express themselves in dining out or having a meal in someone else’s house. 

功課: Practice reading text passages on pages 93-94 fluently.

  1. 1) Turn in your 6-sentence homework.  2) Take one copy of Lesson Eight Supplementary Materials handout and one skit check list.  3) Return test papers.  4) All grades have to be in by 9/10 for Interim report cards.  5) 安絲莉和簡雅莉talks to Ms. Chang, please.  6) Visit Kristine Wright blog address:  http://kristine-wright.blogspot.com/.

Procedure for HS 9P (9/10/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain knowledge about famous scenic spots in China.  2) Students will be able to talk about dates, days of the week, and ask for permission.

Homework: Practice reading text passages.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your 4-sentence homework, please.  2) Anthony talks to Ms. Chang, please.  3) All grades have to be in by 9/20 for interim report cards.  Check your ProgressBook grades.
  2. Review/Learn new characters (咦, 哦, 喔, 了, 要)
  3. Go over terms (好了, 沒錯, 釣魚, 上學, 買東西).
  4. Read text passages on pages 1-2.
  5. DVD: Scenic Spots in China (Huang He, Huang Shan, Zhang Jia Jie, Mount Lu Shan, Jiu Zhai Gou Valley, )

Procedure for MS 3P (9/10/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn numbers/Chinese characters from 7-10, 100 and 0.

Homework: Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers.  2) All grades have to be in by 9/20 for interim report cards.
  2. Teach new terms/Chinese characters.
  3. Culture reading (Ni Hao 1 Lesson One: pages 4-6: Chinese characters, publications, pronunciations).

Procedure for MS 5P (9/10/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will discriminate consonant sounds: b and p. 2) Students will gain knowledge about Chinese characters, publications and pronunciations.

Homework: Review learned syllables.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your reading packet (Kate, Megan G., Rachel L., Alex L.).  2) Return papers.  2) All grades have to be in by 9/20 for interim report cards.
  2. Culture reading (Ni Hao 1 Lesson One: pages 4-6: Chinese characters, publications, and pronunciations).
  3. Learn bpmf and Pinyin foundation handout.
