Procedures for 9/13/10

Procedure for HS 1P (9/13/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will know numbers/characters for numbers 1-6.  2) Students will be able to produce/discriminate m and f consonants.

Homework: 1) Chinese characters (1-6).  2) Review learned sounds.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang won’t be available tomorrow afternoon due to a staff meeting.  2) Return papers.  3) Ellen, Paul, Jack, Abby, and Abdussamad talk to Ms. Chang, please (14 characters / reading packet / quiz #1).  4) Quiz #2 this Thursday.  5) Mark/Label your tabs: housekeeping, handouts, homework, quizzes/tests, and rubrics.
  2. Dictation (b / p sounds).
  3. Teach numbers/characters (1-6).
  4. Go over m / f sounds.

Procedure for HS 2P (9/13/10)

目標: 1) Students will be fluent in reading text passages.  2) Students will be able to hold basic conversations at a restaurant or as a guest of a Chinese family.

功課: Chinese characters (改, 便, 單, 盤, 碗).

程序:

  1. 1) Turn in your 6-sentence homework.  Take one copy of skit checklist, menu, and supplementary material handout, if you have not.  2) Ms. Chang won’t be available tomorrow afternoon due to a staff meeting.  3) Makeup test / work (簡雅莉, 史樂雪).  4) Mark/Label your tabs: housekeeping, handouts, homework, quizzes/tests, and rubrics.
  2. Read passages on text pages 93-95.
  3. Teach new characters (改, 便, 單, 盤, 碗).
  4. Go over phrases on handout (改天, 吃便飯, 點菜).
  5. Browse through WB page 67.  Complete in class tomorrow.

Procedure for HS 9P (9/13/10)

Objectives: Students will be able to talk about dates, days of the week, birthdays and to ask for permission.

Homework: 1) Complete character writing assignment.  2) Practice reading passages on pages 1-3.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers.  2) Quiz #2 on this Thursday.  3) Ms. Chang is not available due to a staff meeting tomorrow.  4) Mark/Label your tabs: housekeeping, handouts, homework, quizzes/tests, and rubrics.
  2. Go over common mistakes in making sentences (那麼).
  3. Dictation/Practice on dry erase board (dates, days, making sentences).
  4. Read text passages on pages 1-3.
  5. Teach new characters (時, 候, 雙, 胞).

Procedure for MS 3P (9/13/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be ready for quiz tomorrow.  2) Students will gain knowledge about Chinese folk art (calligraphy, Chinese painting, New Year’s pictures, paper-cut)

Homework: Study for quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quiz tomorrow.  2) Review numbers/characters (0-10, 100).
  2. DVD: Chinese civilization and arts.
  3. Culture read: Lucky and unlucky numbers.
  4. Audio file (1-7).
  5. Teach number table/counting principle.

Procedure for MS 5P (9/13/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn numbers 7-10, 100 and 0.  2) Students will be able discriminate m and f consonants.

Homework: Review bpmf handout.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers.  2) 8th graders Open House: Wednesday, 9/15.  3)  Quiz #2?  => Thursday.  4) Mark/Label your tabs: housekeeping, handouts, homework, quizzes/tests, and rubrics.
  2. 1) Review (1-6).  2) Dictation (b, p).
  3. Teach numbers/Chinese characters (7-10, 0, 100).  Complete.  Collect on Thursday after the quiz.
    1. Culture reading: lucky and unlucky numbers.
  4. Browse through m/f sounds.  Reteach tomorrow.
