Procedures for 9/17/10

Homeroom (9/17/10)

  • No school on next Monday (9/20/10)
  • Due to binding issues, the distribution of 2010 yearbooks will be postponed to mid- to late-October.
  • Your picture packet is passing out today.

Procedure for HS 1P (9/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will demonstrate their mastery of numbers/Chinese characters and b, p, m, and f consonants.  2) Students will learn Chinese counting principle and be able to count from 0 to 100.

Homework: Practice and be fluent in knowing numbers from 0 to 100.

Procedure:

  1. 1) No school on next Monday (9/20/10).  2) Find one childhood picture, please.  Due on next Friday.  3) Turin in your 12 characters (numbers) writing assignment.  4) Quiz #3 on Friday, 9/24.
  2. Quick review of numbers/Chinese characters.  Take quiz #2.
  3. Go over Chinese counting principle and number table.
  4. DVD: places in China (Chongqing).

Procedure for HS 2P (9/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will acquire new vocabulary of Lesson Eight.  2) Students will practice speaking skill through conducting and presenting their survey result.

Homework: 1) Complete character assignment (味, 精, 題, 隨, 添).  2) Read text passages on pages 97-98.  3) Workbook pages 70 and 72.

Procedure:

  1. No school on next Monday (9/20/10).
  2. Conduct survey and present your survey result.
  3. Teach new characters (味, 精, 題, 隨, 添).

Procedure for HS 9P (9/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will complete acquiring supplementary phrases in Lesson one.  2) Students will practice listening comprehension skill.  3) Students will gain geographic knowledge about famous Tai Shan in China.

Homework: WB page 6.

Procedure:

  1. 1) No school on next Monday (9/20/10).  2) Find your Chinese I PPT project.  Get ready for our pen pal letter project.  3) Captains help check completeness of WB pages 3 and 5.  4) Lesson One test on next Friday (9/24).
  2. Go over answer key to the homework assignment.
  3. Go over supplementary material handout.

Objectives: 1) Students will learn to fold a gift box.  2) Students will gain knowledge about Chinese arts.  3) Students will learn how to use website resource to type in pinyin and Chinese characters.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) No school on next Monday (9/20/10).  2) Quiz #3 on next Friday (family members, etc).
  2. Review all learned terms (father, mother, older brother, older sister, younger brother, and younger sister).
  3. Introduce Website resources for typing Pinyin and Chinese characters.
  4. Origami (gift box).  Collect for grades.
  5. DVD: Chinese Civilization and Arts (silk, embroidery)

Procedure for MS 5P (9/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will demonstrate their mastery of numbers and bpmf consonants.  2) Students will demonstrate their mastery of numbers through a number game.

Homework: Practice numbers and characters in the number table

Procedure:

  1. 1) No school on next Monday (9/20/10).  2) Find one childhood picture, please.  Due on next Friday.  3) Check the completeness of WB pages (1, 2, 4, and 17).  4) Quiz #3 on next Friday (9/24).
