Procedures for 9/23/10

Procedure for HS 1P (9/23/10)

Objectives: Students will be proficient in comprehending numbers through various activities.  Homework: 1) Review d/t/n/l consonants, 6 characters (石, 中, 大, 小, 土, 天) and number table for quiz tomorrow.  2) Complete connecting the dots page.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Picture due on this Friday.  2) Audacity on next Wednesday (9/29).
  2. Read passages on page 18.
  3. Dictation (d/t/n/l, characters, numbers).
  4. Number game.
  5. Connecting dots activity: WB page 17.  Complete it as homework tonight.

Procedure for HS 2P (9/23/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to comprehend dialogues in two video/audio clippings.  2) Students will be able to finish up all new vocabulary in Lesson Eight.

功課: 1) Finish up handout page (survey).  2) Complete writing character assignment.

程序:

  1. Take one copy of Chinese dishes handout.
  2. Go over/finish up the Lesson Eight supplementary handouts.
  3. View video clippings (Survival Chinese/Chinese Link).  Answer the questions.
  4. Learn new characters (隨, 添, 豆, 獅).

Procedure for HS 9P (9/23/10)

Objectives: Students will review materials for the test tomorrow.

Homework: Study for Lesson One test tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. Take one copy of Lesson One Study Guide and one copy of Pen Pal Letter Topics.
  2. Go over study guide.
  3. Dictation.
  4. Practice making sentences on dry erase board.
  5. Clarify (幾號/几号, 第….).
  6. Go over Pen Pal Letter Topics handout.
  7. Pair study.

Procedure for MS 3P (9/23/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review for quiz tomorrow.  2) Students will have hands-on experience with tangram pieces.

Homework: Study for quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. Teach (nian).
  2. Review all learned terms (gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, nian, yue, ri, shengri, de, jia, you, ge ren, sui, he).
  3. Explain Chinese date format (year, month, day).
  4. Compose/Model sentence #5 (my birthday is …year…month…day).  Collect.
  5. Play tangram pieces: Part I.

Procedure for MS 5P (9/23/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn Chinese characters for math operators.  2) Students will be proficient in cite reading.

Homework: 1) Study for quiz tomorrow.  2) Complete writing worksheet (3 characters).

Procedure:

  1. 1) Picture due tomorrow.  2) Audacity recording next Wednesday (9/29).
  2. Read passages on page 18.
  3. Dictation (d/t/n/l, characters– 石, 中, 大, 小, 土, 天, numbers).
  4. Teach new characters (加, 減, 乘).
