Procedures for 9/27/10

Procedure for HS 1P (9/27/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to discriminate g, k, and h consonants.  2) Students will be able to cite reading text passages.

Homework: 1) Review all learned consonants today.  2) Finish Chinese characters worksheet.    Due this Friday.  3) Workbook pages 15 and 16.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of gkhjqx handout.  Turn in your childhood picture?  2) Ms. Chang’s comments on and your feedback to quiz #3?  3) Lesson One test this Friday (10/1) or next Monday (10/4)?  4) Change seats (Hannah/Jason).  5) Please note that Mrs. Welch may observe Ms. Chang’s teaching at any time at any class.
  2. Quick review (加, 減, 乘, 除).  Teach new characters (以, 等, 於).
  3. Go over g, k, h in the handout.
  4. Practice reading Lesson Three text passages on pages 18 and 20.

Procedure for HS 2P (9/27/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to read text passages fluently and comprehend phrases correctly.  2) Students will be able to complete Lesson Eight new vocabulary.

功課: 1) Finish writing characters.  Turn in your characters worksheet tomorrow.  2) Finish word hunting activity worksheet as homework tonight.

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Eight Word Hunting worksheet and one copy of Lesson Eight skit checklist/rubric.  2) If you have your book cover, please sign up for your textbook.  3) Turn in your characters worksheet tomorrow.  4) Please note that Mrs. Welch may soon observe Ms. Chang’s teaching any time at any class.  5) Lesson Eight test on this Friday (10/1).  Lesson Eight Skit presentation on next Monday (10/4).  6) Survey worksheet?
  2. Teach characters (氣, 腐, 湯).
  3. Explain/Read a list of words for the Word hunting activity (listening/reading).
  4. Go over Lesson Eight Skit Checklist/Rubric handout.
  5. Read Lesson Eight text passages on pages 93-98.

Procedure for HS 9P (9/27/10)

Objectives: Students will be able to communicate about time, daily routines and to express opinions about time.

Homework: 1) Chinese characters (點, 分. 刻, 半, 差).  2) Read text page 25.  A bell work for tomorrow.  Count for grades

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Two character worksheet and one copy of action verbs.  2) If you have your book cover, please sign up your textbook (#19-#29).  3) Return test papers.  Ms. Chang’s comments and your feedback??  4) Mrs. Welch may soon observe Ms. Chang at any time at any class.  5) Lesson Two quiz #1 on this Friday.
  2. Teach new characters (點, 分, 刻, 半, 差) with examples on a clock.
  3. Read Lesson One text passages on pages 1-4.
  4. Go over common action terms in the handout.

Procedure for MS 3P (9/27/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn Chinese terms for colors.  2) Students will gain cultural knowledge about Chinese zodiac story and giant panda.  3) Students will be able to explore Chinese children game.

Homework: Review all learned terms. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quiz #4 (colors) on this Friday.  2) Write on black note cards.
  2. Teach new terms (red, black, white, yellow).
  3. Culture reading: Giant panda legend and Chinese zodiac story.
  4. Play tangram pieces: Part II.

Procedure for MS 5P (9/27/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to discriminate g, k and h consonants.  2) Students will be proficient in reading out math equation through flash card activity.  3) Students will be able to cite reading text passages on pages 18 and 20.

Homework: 1) Review all learned syllables.  2) Workbook pages 15 and 16.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of gkhjqx handout.  Turn in your childhood picture?  2) Turn in your Lesson Three characters worksheet.  3) Ms. Chang’s comments (extra time and tutoring) on and your feedback to quiz???  4) Lesson Three test this Friday (10/1).
  2. Teach g, k and h consonants.
  3. Go over Stroke Order handout (basic writing principles).
  4. Read Lesson Three text passages on pages 18 and 20.
  5. Pair activity: Practice math flash cards (+ and – only).
