Procedures for 9/28/10

Procedure for HS 1P (9/28/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to follow the audacity recording instructions in the lab tomorrow.  2) Students will be able to discriminate j, q, and x consonants.

Homework: 1) Review all learned g, k, h, j, q and x consonants.  2) Workbook pages 18 and 19.  3) Practice reading text passages on pages 18 and 20.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Audacity recording instructions sheet.  Childhood pictures?  2) Display the seating chart in the computer lab.  3) Check completeness of workbook pages 15 and 16.  Go over answer key to WB pages 15/16.   Bring WB with you to computer lab tomorrow.  Ms. Chang will check your WB pages.
  2. Go over audacity instruction handout and model recording and submission procedure.
  3. Teach j, q, and x consonants.
  4. Pair activity: math flash cards (+, -, ×, and ÷).

Procedure for HS 2P (9/28/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to learn new characters to describe weather.  2) Students will be able to work in pairs/groups on their skit/dialogue to simulate a conversation carried out in a restaurant.

功課: 1) Practice reading Lesson Eight text passages.  2) Write new characters (雨, 雪, 刮, 冷, 涼).

程序:

1.   1) Take one copy of Lesson Nine characters worksheet.  2) Turn in your Lesson Eight characters worksheet and word hunting worksheet.  3) Audacity recording tomorrow.  4) Display seating chart for the computer lab.

2.   Teach new characters (雨, 雪, 刮, 冷, 涼).

3.   Group activity: work on dialogue (customer/waiter or waitress).  Collect.  Present dialogues (customer/waiter or waitress).

Procedure for HS 9P (9/28/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to use new vocabulary to express their daily routine and current time.  2) Students will be able to comprehend time expression and action words through listening and speaking activities.

Homework: 1) Practice reading text passages on Lesson One.  2) Write Chinese characters (現, 在, 功, 課, 放).

Procedure:

  1. 1) Display the seating chart in the computer lab.  2) Pen pal letter due on next Friday.
  2. Bell work (pop quiz).  Collect.
  3. Teach new characters (現, 在, 功, 課, 放).
  4. Teach sentence pattern: 1) 現在幾點/What time is it now?  2) 你/他在做什麼/What are/is you/he/she doing?
  5. Group activity: captains take charge of telling time/telling actions.

Procedure for MS 3P (9/28/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn more colors in Chinese.  2) Students will be able to say their phone number and address in Chinese.

Homework: Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return quiz papers.  2) Make brown note cards.
  2. Review learned colors (black, white, red, yellow).
  3. Teach new colors (blue, green, orange, brown).
  4. Explain address format/abbreviations/conventions.  Make two more sentences (address and phone numbers).
  5. Tangram pieces: Part II (continued).

Procedure for MS 5P (9/28/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to follow the audacity recording instructions in the lab tomorrow.  2) Students will be able to discriminate j, q, and x consonants.

Homework: 1) Workbook pages 18-19.  2) Review all learned syllables.  3) Practice reading text passages on pages 18 and 20.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Audacity recording instructions sheet.  Childhood pictures?  2) Display the seating chart in the computer lab.  3) Return character worksheet and go over common mistakes.  3) Captains check the completeness of workbook pages 15 and 16.  Bring WB with you to computer lab tomorrow.  Ms. Chang will check your WB pages.  4) Go over answer key to WB pages 15/16. 5) Jordan (makeup quiz #3).  6) Alex absent yesterday????
