Procedures for 9/1/10

Procedure for HS 1P (9/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn to write simple Chinese characters.  2) Students will learn more basic greeting terms.

Homework: 1) Practice writing 2 different characters.  2) Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Open house tonight at 7 PM.  2) Get a copy of square paper.  3) Turn in your interview result!!!  4) Peer tutors are available: Ben Genco at 1P, Lauren Yeh at 7P daily and 8P (Tuesdays/Thursdays).
  2. Review all learned terms.  Learn new terms (Wu An, Wan An, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi).  Do practice at home, please.
  3. Culture reading: Go over text book page 3.  Explain layout of the square paper.
  4. Write Chinese characters (日, 月).  Complete as homework tonight.

Procedure for HS 2P (9/1/10)

目標 (Mù Biāo): l) Be familiar with Chinese date format.  2) Be proficient in Lesson 8 text.

功課 (Gōng Kè): 1) Review ways of telling time by studying supplementary material.  2) Complete worksheet as homework tonight.

程序 (Chéng Xù):

  1. 1) Open house tonight at 7 PM.  2) Return papers (Usage of 幾/几).  Write in Chinese characters for full credit.  3) Double check WB status.  Turn in by Friday.  4) Peer tutors are available: Ben Genco at 1P, Lauren Yeh at 7P daily and 8P (Tuesdays/Thursdays).
  2. Individual bell work: Review date format and Practice translating three different dates—Friday, 4/23/1998; Saturday, 11/9/2000; Sunday, 7/26/2005 by using 年, 月, 日, 星期).  Collect.
  3. Read Lesson 8 text.
  4. Review ways of telling time.
  5. Work on calendar worksheet.

Procedure for HS 9P (9/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will master various day phrases.  2) Students will practice reading text passages and listening skill through listening to an audio file.

Homework: Complete worksheet as homework tonight.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Open house tonight at 7 PM.  2) Finish up signing up inventory sheet.  Where is page #2?  3) Return papers (translating dates, matching names).  Some students need to redo work to earn credit.  Students already show different degrees of learning and work quality!!  Papers without names to be claimed!!  4) Peer tutors are available: Ben Genco at 1P, Lauren Yeh at 7P daily and 8P (Tuesdays/Thursdays).
  2. Listening comprehension.  Write down all your answers.
  3. Teach terms (那麼).  Read text page 1 (traditional and simplified versions).
  4. Go over worksheet.
  5. DVD: Why Chinese and why now.

Procedure for MS 3P (9/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn more basic greeting terms.  2) Students will learn to write simple characters.

Homework: 1) Review all learned terms.  2) Complete writing assignment (2 characters).

Procedure:

  1. Take one copy of square papers.
  2. Review learned terms.  Learn new terms (Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi, Dong le ma, Dong le, Bu Dong).
  3. Culture reading. / Explain the usage of square papers.
  4. Write Chinese characters (日, 月).

Procedure for MS 5P (9/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will learn more basic greeting terms.  2) Students will learn to write simple characters.

Homework: 1) Review all learned terms.  2)  Compete writing assignment (2 characters).

Procedure:

  1. Take one copy of square papers.
  2. Dictation: Review learned terms by writing down pinyin with tone mark on dry erase board.
  3. Learn new terms (Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi, Dong le ma, Dong le, Bu Dong).
  4. Culture reading: textbook page 3.  Go over the usage of square paper.
  5. Write Chinese characters (日, 月).
