Procedures for 9/29/10

Procedure for HS 1P (9/29/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will demonstrate that they can read Lesson Three text passages fluently.  2) Students will check out website resources for pronunciation and flash cards.  3) Students will be able to gain cultural knowledge through viewing videos.

Homework: 1) Review all learned consonants syllables and math operators.  2) Workbook pages 20-21.

Procedure:

  1. Take one copy of Lesson Three text passages and one headset.  Please follow the audacity instructions to record your highlighted passages and drag your file to Ms. Chang’s HS 1P folder.  Return your text passages slip to Ms. Chang, please.
    1. Make sure Ms. Chang checks your WB pages 18 and 19 for completeness.
  2. Go to http://student.nihaoseries.com/ and click Number on the left-hand-side menu to check out the list of vocabulary.
  3. Go to http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/flashcards.php, click Ni Hao Volume 1 in the table, click “3. 1 2 3” and “start” to play flash card or memory game to review vocabulary.
  4. Go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/chinese/real_chinese/videos/start/ to view basic greetings and introduction to Chinese language.
  5. Go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/chinese/real_chinese/videos/greetings/ to view two videos (Qigong and National Day).

Objectives: 1) Students will complete color unit today.  2) Students will be able to express their preference of colors with supplementary terms.

1.   Review learned colors (black, white, red, yellow, green, blue, orange, brown).

2.   Teach new terms (pink, grey, purple).

3.   Teach supplementary terms (xi huan, zui).

4.   Complete one sentence of preference of colors.

5.   Pair practice: Read all 9 sentences.

6.   Learn more supplementary terms for animals.
