Procedures for 10/1/10

Procedure for HS 1P (10/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review materials for their test of Lesson Three and g, k, h, j, q and x consonants on next Monday.  2) Students will be proficient in reading/saying/solving math equations.

Homework: Study for test.

Procedure:

1.      1) Check completeness of your math equations worksheet.  2) Audacity recording on next Friday.  3) Go over sample questions on the test.  4) Turn in your character worksheet on next Monday.

2.      Dictation (g, k, h, j, q, z and equations).

3.      Bingo game.

4.      Showcase Chinese publications.

Procedure for HS 2P (10/1/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to review material for Lesson Eight test on next Monday. 2) Students will be able to get fluency in reading Lesson Nine text passages.

功課: 1) Complete your skit.  Hard copy is due on next Monday.   2) Lesson Eight test is on next Monday.

程序:

1.      1) Make sure your have Lesson Eight Study Guide and one set of Lesson Nine text passages.  2) Go over study guide.  3) Make an appointment with Ms. Chang to complete your Lesson Eight audacity recording before next Friday.

2.      Listening activity: WB page 74.

3.      Reading activity: WB page 73.

4.      Simple conversation practice.

5.      Read text passages on page 105-106.

Procedure for HS 9P (10/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to express time accurately.  2) Students will be able to review/learn more common action terms.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Write five Chinese sentences about what you did over this weekend.

Procedure:

1.      1) Take one copy of Lesson Two Supplementary Materials handout.  2) Turn in your Telling Time worksheet.  3) Your Pen Pal letter due on next Friday.

2.      Lesson Two quiz #1.

3.      Teach new characters (風, 箏, 棋, 睡, 覺)

4.      Read text passages on pages 16/19.

5.      Survey/Interview activity: WB page 13.  Write 5 questions and interview 3 students.  Share the result.

Procedure for MS 3P (10/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will demonstrate their mastery of 11 colors.  2) Students will gain cultural knowledge about Chinese traditional exercise and school system.

Homework: Prepare/Complete your art project.

Procedure:

1.      1) Complete your art project over this weekend.  Due on next Wednesday.  2) Return oral presentation draft #2.

2.      1) Quick review.  2) Quiz #4.

3.      Practice saying 10 sentences.

4.      Noah Paulsen’s presentation.

5.      Culture reading: Chinese Tai-Chi and leisure activities/School system.

Procedure for MS 5P (10/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review materials for their test of Lesson Three and g, k, h, j, q and x consonants on next Monday.  2) Students will gain fluency in reading/writing/listening skills through a bingo activity.

Homework: Study for test

Procedure:

1.      1) Check completeness of your math equations worksheet.  2) Read text passages on page 20.  3) Return audacity grades.  Talk to and make an appointment with Ms. Chang for retaking audacity before next Friday.  Go over common mistakes (deng yu, cheng yi, chu yi, jian, liu, qi, si, wu).  4) Go over sample questions on the test.  5) Missing work (Kerem: WB)
