Procedures for 10/7/10

Procedure for HS 1P (10/7/10)

Objectives: Students will learn Chinese characters for greetings.

Homework: 1) Workbook page 13.  2) Write 4 new Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Audacity recording tomorrow at 2nd Floor, Red Lab.  Bring your WB with you.  Ms. Chang will check your WB H/W there.  2) Return papers.  3) Quiz #4: next Thursday, 10/14.
  2. Review characters (你, 我, 他, 她, 好, 是).
  3. Dictation (r and z).
  4. Go over r, z, c, s consonants.
  5. Learn new characters/phrases (們, 早, 再, 見)

Procedure for HS 2P (10/7/10)

目標: 1) students will review material and make phrases.  2) Students will practice listening comprehension/speaking through a conversation practice.

功課: 1) Write 5 Chinese characters.  2) Hunting words WS.

程序:

  1. 1) Turn in your 3-sentence homework.  Take one copy of Hunting Words WS.  2) Return papers (安絲莉: Chinese Club application form?).  3) Lesson Nine Quiz #1 is on next Monday.  4) Present skit tomorrow.  Finish reading Lesson Eight text passages tomorrow.
  2. Flash cards/Review terms (天氣, 下雪, 下雨, 刮風, 冷, 涼快, 熱, 春天, 夏天, 秋天, 冬天).
  3. Learn new characters/phrases (最, 高, 低, 溫, 度/最喜歡, 最大, 最小, 最可愛, 最漂亮, 最貴, 溫暖, 氣溫).
  4. Whole class activity: Make phrases (WB page 83). 上/中/下/學/客.
  5. 1) Teach/Practice sentence pattern:  今天氣溫幾度? 幾天氣溫最高…度, 最低….度.  2) Conversation questions.

Procedure for HS 9P (10/7/10)

Objectives: Students will practice their speaking/reading skills through a conversation routine

功課: Hunting Words Worksheet

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Hunting Words worksheet.  Return papers.  2) Captains check completeness of WB pages 10/14.  3) Go over answer key to WB page 10.  4) Pen pal letter due tomorrow.  5) Go over terms for tomorrow’s quiz.
  2. Whole class activities: Conversation practice (daily routine–起床 吃早飯 上學 吃午飯 放學 吃晚飯 做功課 睡覺).
  3. Learn new characters (電, 影, 遲, 到, 慢).

Procedure for MS 3P (10/7/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to know their teacher and classroom rules.  2) Students will be able to pick up a few Chinese greeting terms today.

Homework: 1) Complete Student Inventory form.  Due tomorrow.  2) Signature slip.  Due on next Monday.

Procedure:

  1. Pass out/Go over Student Inventory form.  Collect, if available.
  2. Pass out/Go over Ms. Chang’s Classroom Rules.
  3. Teach Chinese terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi).

Procedure for MS 5P (10/7/10)

Objectives: Students will be able to discriminate r, z, c, and s consonants.

Homework: Review all learned syllables.

Procedure:

  1. The following students (Karli R., Brandon H., Megan G.) talk to Ms. Chang after class, please.
  2. Dictation (zh, ch, sh).  Review characters (你, 我, 他, 是, 好).
  3. Go over r, z, c, and s consonants.
  4. Whole class activity: Toss a ball to practice conversation (ni, wo, ta).
