Procedures for 10/11/10

rocedure for HS 1P (10/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain fluency in greeting terms through a community-building activity.  2) Students will complete all new characters in Lesson Two day.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Review all learned syllables.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Two text passages slip and one copy of compound vowels handout.  2) Go over answer key to WB page 13.  3) Ms. Chang is not available before and after school tomorrow due to meetings.  4) Whole school test day on Wednesday.
  2. Learn new characters (見, 老, 師, 同, 學, 明).
  3. Review phrases (你們, 我們, 他們, 她們, 你好, 早上, 早上好, 再見).
  4. Conversation practice: Building community activity (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Ming Tian Jian).
  5. Culture reading: pages 13-15—Greetings/Chinese names/Addressing teachers.

Procedure for HS 2P (10/11/10)

目標: 1) Students will practice reading and listening skills through a typesetting activity.  2) Students will practice speaking skill through a conversation routine.

功課: WB page 81.

程序:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks the completeness of WB page 76.  Go over answer key to WB page 76.  2) Ms. Chang is not available before/after school tomorrow due to meetings.  3) Whole school test day on Wednesday.  4) Friday’s field trip?
  2. 1) Quick review.  2) Lesson Nine Quiz #1.
  3. Typesetting activity.

Procedure for HS 9P (10/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain fluency in reading Lesson Two text passages.  2) Students will gain cultural knowledge about Chinese leisure activities and school routine.  3) Students will finish up all characters in Lesson Two.

功課: Write new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang is not available before and after school tomorrow due to meetings.  2) Whole school test day on Wednesday.  3) One Hunting Words WS without name?  Benita’s makeup quiz (?).  4) Lesson Two test is on next Tuesday, 10/19.  5) Work on Ni Hao 1 and 2 interactive computer games in Red Lab tomorrow.
  2. 1) Quick review.  2) Lesson Two quiz #2.
  3. Learn new characters (慢, 糟, 已, 經).
  4. Read text passages on pages 16-20.
  5. Group activity: Review flash cards.

Procedure for MS 3P (10/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn more greeting terms.  2) Students will learn basic phonetic notation and rules.  3) Students will gain geographic knowledge about China.

Homework: Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one set of China reading packet. Turn in your signature slip, please.  2) Introduce Ms. Chang’s daily blog and attachments in ProgressBook.  3) Explain grades in your 1st quarter report card.  4) Return your Spanish project work.
  2. Review 4 learned terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian).
  3. Teach new terms (Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao, Ni Zao, Wu An, Wan An).
  4. Go over Introduction to Hanyu Pinyin handout.
  5. DVD: China (General Information).
  6. Go over China reading packet.

Procedure for MS 5P (10/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will finish up all new characters in Lesson Two.  3) Students will gain knowledge about transportation, school yard sports, games, after-school activities, farm chores, and weekend activities in China.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Review learned syllables.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Two text passages slip and one copy of Compound Vowels handout.  2) Check workbook pages 13.  3) Go over answer key to WB page 13.  4) Play audio file (1, 2 and 3).
  2. Learn new characters (老, 師, 同, 學, 明).
  3. DVD: Let’s Visit Dawei Village.
