Procedures for 10/18/10

Procedure for HS 1P (10/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will demonstrate their mastery of consonants.  2) Students will review Lesson Two materials through various activities (reading text, bingo game, etc).  3) Students will continue to learn compound vowels.

Homework: WB pages 10/12.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your H/W (Chinese name).  2) Missing work (Hannah/Stefan) by tomorrow.  3) Audacity recording on Monday, October 25.
  2. Quiz #4.
  3. Dictation (ao ai ou ei).
  4. Teach compound vowels (ie ia).
  5. Reach text passages on pages 7-9.
  6. Bingo game.

Procedure for HS 2P (10/18/10)

目標: 1) Students will continue to learn new vocabulary in Lesson Nine.  2) Students will gain fluency in reading text/listening to audio files.

功課: 1) Writing new characters.  2) Practice reading text passages.

程序:

  1. 1) Lesson Nine chapter test: Tuesday, 10/26.  2) Audacity: Wednesday, 10/27.  3) First quarter oral test: Wednesday/Thursday, 10/17 and 10/28.
  2. Skit presentation (Josiah, Lauren).
  3. Complete WB page 83 (#10-#12).
  4. Learn new characters (預, 陰, 華, 雷, 陣).
  5. Conversation practice (temperature).

Procedure for HS 9P (10/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain cultural knowledge about Chinese leisure activities.  2) Students will be able to finish up new characters in Lesson Two.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) WB page 15.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return pen pal letters.  Turn in your revised draft on this Wednesday, 8/20.  2) Captain checks completeness of WB page 16.  3) Go over answer key to WB page.
  2. 1) Listen to audio file: WB page 17.  2) Go over answer key to WB page.
  3. Teach new characters (常, 活, 錶, 零).
  4. Read text passages on page 20.
  5. Culture reading/Showcase Chinese chess board/pieces: text pages 27-28.

Procedure for MS 3P (10/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will finish up greeting terms today.  2) Students will continue to learn simple Chinese characters.

Homework: Review for quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Four Tones Table handout.  2) Return papers (China reading packet).  3) Quiz #1 tomorrow.
  2. Go over Four Tones Table handout.
  3. Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zhang Lao Shi, Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao, Wu An, Wan An, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi, Shang Ke, Xia Ke, Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo).
  4. Teach new terms (Dong le ma, Dong le, Bu Dong, Tong Xue men Hao).
  5. Culture reading/Writing Chinese characters (person, fire, mouth, water).
  6. DVD: Chinese arts and civilization, if time allows.

Procedure for MS 5P (10/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review Lesson Two materials through various activities (reading text, listening to audio file, etc).  2) Students will continue to learn compound vowels.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your H/W (Chinese name).  2) Audacity recording on Monday, October 25.  3) Makeup quiz #4 (Brandon S.).
  2. Dictation (ao ai ei).
  3. Teach compound vowels (out ia ie).
  4. Reach text passages on pages 7-9.
  5. Bingo game.
