Procedures for 10/19/10

Procedure for HS 1P (10/19/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will finish learning compound vowels today.  2) Students will review materials for chapter test on Thursday.

Homework: Review learned syllables and characters for Lesson Two chapter test Thursday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return Chinese name writing papers and bingo papers.  Quiz papers will be returned when Troy is done with his makeup (?)  2) Turn in your missing work (writing assignment?)  3) Check completeness of WB pages 10/12.  4) Go over answer key to WB pages.
  2. Dictation.
  3. Listen to audio file: WB page 9.  Go over answer key to WB page.
  4. Pair activity: matching.
  5. Finish up compound vowels handout.
  6. Read text passages on pages 7-9.

Procedure for HS 2P (10/19/10)

目標: 1) Students will continue to learn new vocabulary in Lesson Nine.  2) Students will gain fluency through reading and listening activities.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading text passages.

程序:

  1. Teach new characters (雲, 死, 停, 討, 厭).
  2. Read text passages on pages 105-108.

Procedure for HS 9P (10/19/10)

Objectives: Students will gain reading fluency through reading many passages.

功課: Study/Review all vocabulary for Lesson Two test Thursday.

Procedure:

  1. Captains check completeness of WB page 15.  Go over answer key to WB page.
  2. Read text passage on page 26.
  3. Explain page 23, the usage of “了”.
  4. Class work: Work on WB page 15.  Discuss/Go over the answer key.

Procedure for MS 3P (10/19/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will demonstrate their mastery of unit #1: basic greetings.  2) Students will be able to brainstorm their art project.  3) Students will gain cultural knowledge about Chinese writing and pronunciation.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return your character writing assignment.  No credit for incomplete work.  Resubmit you are done.  2) Quiz #2: Tuesday, 10/26.  3) Quick review.  4) Quiz #1.
  2. Culture reading: text pages 3-6.  Showcase traditional/contemporary publications.
  3. Showcase/explain art projects.
