Procedures for 10/14/10

Procedure for HS 1P (10/14/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review consonants through a dictation routine.  2) Students will review learned terms and sharpen their listening and reading skills through various activities.

Homework: Write your Chinese name (two rows for each character).


  1. 1) Take one copy of square paper.  2) Ms. Chang will e-mail you your Chinese name’s stroke orders, pinyin and meanings tomorrow.  3) Missing work (Hannah, Stefan–Audacity).
  2. Dictation (zh sh ch r c s z).
  3. Read Lesson Two text passages on page 7-9.
  4. 1) Quick review (list of terms).  2) Listening to audio file: WB page 9.  3) Go over the answer key to WB page.
  5. Pass out Chinese name note cards.  Explain what Ms. Chang’s e-mail will look like.

Procedure for HS 2P (10/14/10)

目標: Students will be able to review learned materials through interactive computer games.

功課: N/A


Take one headset.  Go to P drive, click Ms. Chang’s folder.  Then click Ni Hao 1 or Ni Hao 2 to review learned materials.  You can type in your name and period number to log in.

Procedure for HS 9P (10/14/10)

Objectives: Students will be able to review materials through various activities.

功課: WB page 16.


  1. Return papers (searching words).  2) Lesson Two chapter test: Thursday, 10/21.  Chinese painting lesson: Friday, 10/22.
  2. Dictation (date, time).
  3. Read text passages on pages 16- 20.
  4. Matching activity.
  5. Bingo game.

Procedure for MS 3P (10/14/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn more greeting terms.  2) Students will practice holding chopsticks to pick up cereal.  3) Students will start learning some simple Chinese characters.

Homework: Review all learned terms.


  1. Review all learned terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao, Ni Zao, Wu An, Wan An, Zhang Lao Shi, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi).
  2. Teach new terms (Shang Ke, Xia Ke, Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo).
  3. Culture reading/Learn simple Chinese characters (sun, moon, mounting, tree).
  4. Practice holding chopsticks with Cheerios/Lucky Charms.

Procedure for MS 5P (10/14/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will get their Chinese name today.  2) Students will showcase their mastery of final group of consonants today.  3) Students will learn Mandarin Chinese and gain geographical about Huang Shan through viewing a DVD.

Homework: Two rows for each Chinese name character.


  1. 1) Take one copy of square paper.  2) Quick review.  3) Quiz #4.
  2. Pass out Chinese name packet.  Questions?
