Procedures for 10/26/10

Procedure for HS 1P (10/26/10)

Objectives: Students will be able to start Lesson Four today.

Homework: Study/Review new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your typing work, please.  2) Return all characters worksheet, chapter test papers, audacity recording and typing work papers.  3) Take one copy of Lesson Four characters worksheet and compound vowels handout.  4) Who Is He/She activity and changing seat: Thursday, 10/28.  5) Quiz #5: Wednesday, 11/3.  6) Check ProgressBook for accuracy.  7) Missing work (Shaina/Josh/Ellen/Darian—audacity; all except Stefan and Troy need to turn in typing work).
  2. Go over common mistakes (再, 好, 早).  Teach new characters (誰, 馬, 克, 白, 她).
  3. Simple conversation practice (Who are/is/am you/he, she/I?)

Procedure for HS 2P (10/26/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to review conversation questions for their chapter test .  2) Students will clarify their questions about Lesson Nine skit and Lesson Nine chapter test.

功課: WB page 89 (note: #1—page 73).

程序:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Ni Hao 3 Lesson One characters worksheet.  2) Check completeness of WB page 88.
  2. 1) Finish up audacity: Kaitlyn.  2) Go over first quarter oral exam questions.
  3. Go over skit checklist and study guide.  Questions?

Procedure for HS 9P (10/26/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to identify directions (up, down, front, back, right, and left) today.  2) Students will continue to take their first semester oral exam today.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) WB page 18 Section B.  3) Practice reading Lesson Two text passages.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return Lesson Two chapter test papers.  2) Turned in WB page 86 and Ms. Chang checks completeness of characters worksheet.  3) Lesson Three mini quiz #1: Thursday, 11/4.  4) Missing work (Caelan: WB page 15 / Eddie and Pamela: WB page 16 / Brad: Lesson Two characters worksheet / WB pages 10 & 14: Wyatt)
  2. Teach new characters (左, 右, 邊, 面) w/sample sentences (上, 下, 左, 右, 前, 後, 裡,外).
  3. Oral exam.

Procedure for MS 3P (10/26/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will showcase their mastery of unit #2: numbers today.  2) Students will gain cultural knowledge about family structure in China and try Chinese version of rock, scissors, and paper game.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) 7th grade team day: Thursday, 10/28.  No Chinese class.  2) Turn in your newspaper hunting homework, please.  Questions?  3) Quick review.  4) Turned in your 12-Chinese number characters writing assignment.
  2. Quiz #2.
  3. Pass out oral presentation sentence patterns handout.
  4. Teach terms and introduce finger guessing game (rock, scissors, paper).  Class activity: find the last three contestants.
  5. Culture reading: family size/address family members.

Procedure for MS 5P (10/26/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will brainstorm ideas about their skit.  2) Students will continue to master compound vowels.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lessons 2, 3, and 4 Skit Checklist.  2) Pass out Chinese I textbook (Hurray!  Finally!).  Sign your name in the inventory form, please.  Get a book cover, Ms. Chang will check your book cover next Monday, 11/1.  3) Return Lesson Two chapter test papers.  4) Missing work (Ryan—WB pages 10 and 12).
  2. Return Chinese painting work/Take pictures.
  3. Go over the skit checklist.
  4. Dictation.
  5. Go over compound vowels handout.
