Procedures for 10/4/10

Procedure for HS 1P (10/4/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will demonstrate their mastery of Lesson Three materials.  2) Students will be able to learn basic principles in writing Chinese characters.  3) Students will be able to utilize their Chinese textbook resources efficiently.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your Lesson Three characters worksheet.  2) Quick review.
  2. Lesson Three test.
  3. Go over Stroke Order handout.
  4. Introduce textbook structure/organization and publisher’s website resources, http://student.nihaoseries.com/.
  5. Enrichment (date format—year, month, day).

Procedure for HS 2P (10/4/10)

目標: Students will demonstrate their mastery of Lesson Eight materials.

功課: 1) Practice reading text passages on pages 105-106.  2) WB page 77.

程序:

  1. 1) Turn in your typed skit script w/rubric-checklist.  2)  Quick review (nouns, verbs).  3) Skit presentation is on this Friday.
  2. Lesson Eight test.

Procedure for HS 9P (10/4/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to describe their daily routine in writing and speaking.  2)

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2)  Practice reading text passages on pages 18-19.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of My Daily Schedule worksheet and one copy of Lesson Two text passages.  2) Turn in your 5-sentence paragraph.  3) Return papers (quiz, telling time WS).  Go over common mistakes.
  2. Learn new characters (聽, 音, 寫, 字, 茶).
  3. Read/go over sentence pattern on text passages on pages 18-19 (早上 / 上午 / 中午 / 下午 / 晚上).
  4. Review action verbs (做功課 放風箏 下棋 看書 喝茶 跳舞 寫字 看漫畫 聽音樂, 起床 吃早飯 上學 吃午飯 放學 吃晚飯 睡覺).
  5. Work on Daily Schedule worksheet.  Conversation dialogue.

Procedure for MS 3P (10/4/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain cultural knowledge about Chinese school system and Chinese cooking.  2) Students will be able to practice oral presentation for tomorrow.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Last day of Exploratory Chinese is this Wednesday, 10/6.  2) Return quiz paper and draft #2.  3)   Introduce 32 8th graders in Chinese I class.  Check out with them, please.  4) Oral presentation tomorrow.
  2. Go over common mistakes/questions in these 10 sentences.
  3. Practice 10 sentences.  Questions?
  4. Culture reading: Finish up School Systems / Chinese cooking.

Procedure for MS 5P (10/4/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will demonstrate their mastery of Lesson Three materials.  2) Students will be able to learn basic principles in writing Chinese characters.  3) Students will be able to utilize website resources.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your Lesson Three characters worksheet.  2) Quick review.  3) Audacity recording on this coming Wednesday, 10/6.
  2. Lesson Three test.
  3. Go over Stroke Order handout.
  4. Introduce publisher’s website resources, http://student.nihaoseries.com/.
