Procedures for 11/2/10

Procedure for HS 1P (11/2/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will finish 2nd set of compound vowels today.  2) Students will be able to identify someone, to state their age and to welcome people.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of front nasal sounds handout.  2) Dictation.
  2. Finish 2nd set of compound vowels handout.
  3. Game time (我是誰? 你是….; 她/他是誰? 她/他是…).
  4. Simple conversation (你幾歲?). No “是” when asking /answering questions about age.
  5. Seat work: Study front nasal sounds handout.  work on your skit.

Procedure for HS 2P (11/2/10)

目標: Students will be able to share their experiences of school life including their subjects, exams and classmates.

功課: 1) Complete your skit tonight.  2) Write new characters.

程序:

  1. Review learned terms (英語/文 中文 音樂 科學 數學 化學).
  2. Teach new characters (歷, 史, 理, 政, 術) =>歷史, 地理, 物理, 美術, 家政, 政治, 武術.
  3. Class work: Complete your skit, etc.

Procedure for HS 9P (11/2/10)

Objectives: Students will be able to talk about various rooms in the house and describe relative position of things.

功課: Write new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return all papers (audacity).  2) Draw a number for your new seat.  Move to new seats, please.  3) Lesson Three mini quiz #1: Friday, 11/5.  4) Lesson Three audio files and text passages slip were sent to you on Friday, 10/29.  5) Missing audacity work (Anthony, Claire, Michaela, David, James, Jacklyn, Adam F., Bailey, Brad, Wyatt)
  2. Review (上面, 下面, 前面, 後/后面, 左邊/边, 右邊/边, 裡面, 外面, 對面).
  3. Teach new characters (池, 庫, 廚, 客, 廳) –游泳池, 書房, 車庫, 廚房, 客廳, 飯廳, 音樂廳, 舞廳.
  4. Read text passage on page 29.
  5. Showcase project samples (PPT, movie, posters).
  6. Simple conversation questions practice.

Procedure for MS 3P (11/2/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to work on 2nd origami project.  2) Students will be able to compare/contrast English and Chinese date format.

Homework: Practice saying 5 sentences.

Procedure:

  1. Quick review (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, jia, you, ge ren, he).
  2. Teach new terms (de, sheng ri, nian).
  3. Explain Chinese date format: nian => yue => day.
  4. Write sentence #5.
  5. Pair practice: saying sentences 1-5.
  6. Origami time: pinwheel / gift box.  Collect for grades.

Procedure for MS 5P (11/2/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to complete 2nd set of compound vowels.  2) Students will be able to get fluency in asking/answering questions of identifying people.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your H/W (pinyin, Chinese characters).  2) Pick up a new captain.  Captains Checks book cover.  3) Take one book label, write your name and paste onto your textbook.  4) Quiz #5: Friday, 11/5 (2nd set of compound vowels and front nasal sounds.  Lesson Four chapter test: Friday, 11/12 (back nasal sounds and Lesson Two).  5) Quick review (你, 我, 他, 她, 我們, 你們, 他/她們, 誰).  6) Missing audacity work (Genevieve, Keiichi, Jacqueline, Megan G., Ryan, Cole).  Talk to Ms. Chang, please.
  2. Finish up 2nd set of compound vowels.
  3. Read text passages: pages 23-24.
  4. Pair activity: Practice conversation questions (你是誰, 我是誰, 他/她是誰, 我們是誰, 你們是誰, 他/她們是誰).
  5. Class work: work on your skit.
