Procedures for 11/8/10

Procedure for HS 1P (11/8/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review back nasal sounds starting from today.  2) Students will continue to acquire new characters today.

Homework: 1) Review all learned terms.  2) Write new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Back Nasal Sounds handout.  2) Turn in your skit w/checklist—name(s) on your checklist, please.  Make sure you give your script to someone who is willing to read for you if you work independently.  Presentation is on this Wednesday.  3) Write your Chinese name on your paper, 1 point deduction will be taken starting from this week!  4) Lesson Four chapter test (Lesson Four—listening, reading, writing + Back Nasal Sounds) on this Friday, 11/12.  5) Return quiz #5 papers.  Questions?  6) Ms. Chang is not available tomorrow after school due to a staff meeting.
  2. Go over Back Nasal Sounds handout.
  3. Teach new characters (請, 進, 謝, 兩).

Procedure for HS 2P (11/8/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to discuss/express opinions about daily class schedule.  2) Students will be able to acquire new characters in Lesson One.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Read text passages on pages 1-2.

程序:

  1. 1) Turn in your revised Lesson Nine skit/brochure and your class schedule.  Presentation is on Wednesday, 11/10.  2) Ms. Chang is not available tomorrow after school due to a staff meeting.
    1. Read text passages on pages 1-2.
  2. Teach new characters (名, 平, 忘, 虎, 透)—姓名 小名 大名 有名 名人 水平 老虎 穿透 看透 透明 不透明
  3. Simple conversation questions.

Procedure for HS 9P (11/8/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will continue to acquire new characters in Lesson Three.  2) Students will practice making sentences to describe objects’ or rooms’ relative position.  3) Students will be able to practice simple conversations regarding room layout.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading text passages on pages 29-31.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return quiz papers.  2) Weekly Wednesday conversation quiz will start this week.  3) Ms. Chang is not available tomorrow after school due to a staff meeting.
  2. Making sentence / Dictation (describing rooms’/objects’ relative positions to make sentences)
  3. Teach new characters (陽, 台, 間, 臥, 室)–花園, 公園, 公寓, 洋房, 陽台, 臥室/房.
  4. Simple conversation questions.

Procedure for MS 3P (11/8/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to start unit #4: colors today.  2) Students will be able to build sentences for their oral presentation.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quiz #4 (Colors): Friday, 11/12.  2) Return your draft #1.  3) Finalize your colors note cards.  Need colored strips (pink, brown, purple)?  Captains check for completeness.  4) Makeup work (Antonio—quiz/sentences/origami, Dan/Megan B.: origami).  5) Make sure you start taking actions for your art project.  It is due on next Wednesday.  Oral presentation starts on Thursday.
  2. Teach new terms (Hong Se, Huang Se, Hei Se, Bai Se).
  3. Review phone number format.  Write sentence 6.
  4. Supplementary terms for animals?

Procedure for MS 5P (11/8/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review back nasal sounds starting from today.  2) Students will continue to acquire new characters today.

Homework: 1) Review all learned terms.  2) Write new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Four text slip and one copy of Back Nasal Sounds handout.  2) Turn in your skit w/checklist—names on your checklist, please.  Presentation is on this Wednesday.  3) Makeup work (Keiichi, Paige).  4) Write your Chinese name on your paper, 1 point deduction will be taken from this week!  5) Lesson Four chapter test (Lesson Four—listening, reading, writing + Back Nasal Sounds) on this Friday, 11/12.  6) Lesson Four audacity recording: Thursday, 11/18.

  3. Teach new characters (兩, 祝, 快, 樂).  Bonus writing question in chapter test!
