Procedure for 11/11/10

Procedure for HS 1P (11/11/10)

Objectives: Students will be able to review material for their chapter test tomorrow.

Homework: Study for Lesson Four chapter test tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.      1) Take one copy of Lesson Four Study Guide and one copy of Review Sounds 1 handout.  2) Turn in your Lesson Four characters worksheet tomorrow.  3) Skit performance (Shaina, Darian).  4) Ms. Chang returns your skit checklist.

2.      Seat work: WB page 26.  Go over answer key to WB page.

3.      Go over study guide.

4.      Practice simple writing problems.

Procedure for HS 2P (11/11/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to present their Lesson Nine Weather project.  2) Students will be able to acquire new characters in Lesson One.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Read text passages on pages 1-2, and 8.  3) WB page 2.

程序:

1.      1) Missing work (Alex, Ben, Josiah, Lauren?).  2) Take one copy of movie guide.  3) Lesson One chapter test Part I (subjects, preferences of subjects, class schedule, performance in tests): Friday, 11/19.

2.      Presentation (Alex, Lauren).

3.      Teach new characters (別, 漢, 詞, 自, 己) –個別 漢堡 英漢 漢英 漢人 漢語 生詞 台詞 字典 詞典 自己 已經.

4.      DVD: Shanghai Makeover.

Procedure for HS 9P (11/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn terms for home appliances and furniture.  2) Students will be able to practice conversation dialogue about dwelling environment.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading text passages on pages 29-31.

Procedure:

1.      1) Return WB page 24 and your 5-sentence paragraph about your house floor plan.  Fix mistakes for full credit.  Common mistakes (no staircase, arrow key to indicate North or front, details in labeling, etc).  2) Lesson Three mini quiz #2 (rooms, furniture/appliances, adjectives): Friday, 11/19.

2.      Go over common mistakes: 1) labeling (front, north, 1st/2nd/basement…), 2) labeling (when there are more than one room of the same type, e.g., 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 5 bedrooms, etc., 3) time: last year/previous day/next year/following day ó last week/last month/next week/next month .

3.      Teach new terms (機, 視, 沙 發 箱)—電視機, 電冰箱, 洗衣機, 沙發, 水床, 箱子, 沙發床, 果汁機.

4.      Demonstration: Kate/Caitlin: Macarena w/direction terms.

Procedure for MS 3P (11/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn supplementary terms for sports today.  2) Students will be able to utilize a website resource to type pinyin.  3) Students will continue to explore Tangram pieces.

Homework: Review all learned terms for quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.      1) Quick review (Hong Se, Bai Se, Huang Se, Hei Se, Lü Se, Lan Se,  Zi Se, Zong Se, Fen Hong Se, Cheng Se, Hui Se).

2.      Supplementary terms for sports needed?

3.      1) Complete sentences 8-10.  2) Pair practice: read sentences 6-10.

4.      Introduce a Website tool to type Chinese pinyin.

5.      Tangram pieces: Part II.

Procedure for MS 5P (11/11/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review material for their chapter test tomorrow.  2) Students will review all consonants and vowels through cite reading sentences.

Homework: 1) Study for Lesson Four chapter test tomorrow.  2) Review learned sentences.

Procedure:

1.      1) Take one copy of Lesson Four Study Guide.  2) Turn in your Lesson Four characters worksheet tomorrow.  4) Skit presentation (Anthony, Collin).  5) Go over answer key to WB page 26.

2.      1) Finish up Back Nasal Sounds handout.  2) Dictation.

3.      Go over study guide.

4.      Practice sample questions.
