Procedurse for 11/17/10

Procedure for HS 1P (11/17/10)

Objectives: Students will review Hanyu pinyin system through cite reading passages.

Homework: Practice reading sentences in Review Sounds 1 handout.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks completeness of your characters worksheet (definitions).  2) Return papers.  Comments/Questions?  3) Missing work (Darian).
  2. Introduce structure of Review Sounds 1 handout.  Go over 3 sentences.  Q/A session.
  3. Introduce Lesson Five and book structure/patterns.

Procedure for HS 2P (11/17/10)

目標: 1) Students will review sentence patterns to answer questions about how they do in their test.  2) Students will view a movie and compare/contract Chinese/American culture.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Continue to complete movie discussion questions.  It is due at midnight this Friday.

程序:

  1. Missing work (Lauren/Leshe—WB pages 2/4, conversation part: Trey, Josiah, Kaitlyn, Ben, Leshe).
  2. Go over sentence patterns on WB page 4.  Study Guide?  (Class schedule, preferences of subjects, question and answer about the performance in a test).
  3. DVD: The Road Home.

Procedure for HS 9P (11/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will practice /be assessed their listening/speaking skills through a weekly conversation routine.  2) Students will practice reading/writing/listening/speaking skills through a mismatch activity.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading text passage on page 34.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers.  2) Check completeness of WB pages 23/35.  Go over answer keys to WB pages.  3) Missing work (Michaela).
  2. Teach new characters (唱, 歌, 另, 夜)— 唱歌, 另外, 半夜, 夜晚
  3. Teaching terms of 最/ Seating chart activity: 最右邊 最左邊 最前面 最後面 最中間 中間 最上面 最下面…
  4. Conversation questions session. / Writing seat work: WB page 21—write down description about a house in Chinese (what rooms there are, and what the right-most, the far right, the far left, the left-most rooms are..).  Collect for grade and a listening activity for tomorrow

Procedure for MS 3P (11/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to apply 10 Chinese terms in their art project.  2) Students will be able to showcase their work to peers.

Homework: Practice reading 10 sentences for your oral presentation tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Complete your art project by the end of the class if you are not done yet.  Work on other assignment if you are done.  2) Take turns submitting your file to Ms. Chang’s folder, if necessary.  Questions/Answer session.
  2. Showcase student work.

Procedure for MS 5P (11/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will gain cite reading fluency through reading sentences.  2) Students will finish up a DVD about Huang Shan.

Homework: Study for audacity recording tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.   1) Return papers.  2) Quick review (書/书, 包, 毛, 筆/笔).  3) Showcase a picture of birthday peach bun.

2.   Read Lesson Four text passages

3.   Song time (Happy Birthday to you).

4.   Go over Review Sounds 1 handout (4 more sentences).  Pair practice!

5.   DVD: Let’s Visit Huang Shan.
