Procedures for 11/19/10

Procedure for HS 1P (11/19/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to gain cultural knowledge about how people celebrate birthdays in China.  2) Students will be able to gain knowledge about how Shanghai reconstructed its landscape for a better city design.  3) Students will gain fluency through cite reading sentences.

Homework: Practice reading sentences.

Procedure:

1.      1) Quick review (supplies).  2) Quick reading (sentences #1-7).  3) Sign up food for party on Tuesday, 11/23.  Anything thing from Ms. Chang?

2.      Go over Review Sounds 1 handout (#8-10).

3.      Culture reading: text pages 28-31.

4.   DVD: Shanghai Makeover.

Procedure for HS 2P (11/19/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to showcase their mastery of Lesson One part I (class schedule, preferences of subject, performance in a test).  2) Students will be able to finish up a movie to compare/contrast cultural traditions in America/China.

功課: Complete your discussion questions.  Due midnight tonight.

程序:

1.      1) Quick review.  2) Lesson One chapter test: Part I.

2.      DVD: The Road Home.

Procedure for HS 9P (11/19/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will demonstrate their mastery of Lesson Three new vocabulary/terms.  2) Students will be able to clarify requirements of their floor plan project.

功課: Complete your project over this weekend.

Procedure:

1.      Project is due next Monday.  E-mail Ms. Chang with your file as an attachment or leave your flash drive/CD/poster, checklist, and printed script before you leave Chinese class next Monday.

2.      1) Quick review.  3) Lesson Three Quiz #2.

3.      Q/A session: Floor Plan project.

Procedure for MS 3P (11/19/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to present/showcase their art project.  2) Students will gain cultural knowledge about Chinese food through reading and browsing cookbooks.  3) Students will be able to play game to review body parts.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

1.      1) Present/Showcase art projects.

2.      Culture reading: Chinese food.  Browse through cook books.

3.      Game time: Follow the leader.

Procedure for MS 5P (11/19/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will continue to acquire new characters in Lesson Five.  2) Students will be able to view a DVD giant pandas in China.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading sentences.

Procedure:

1.   1) Quick review (supplies).  2) Quick reading (sentences #1-7).

2.   Teach new characters (尺, 這, 那, 什, 麼) w/sentence patterns.

3.   Go over Review Sounds 1 handout (#8-10).

4.   DVD: China: The Panda Adventure.
