Procedures for 11/29/10

Procedure for HS 1P (11/29/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to acquire new characters.  2) Students will be able to gain fluency through cite reading.  3) Students will be able to utilize an excellent website utility.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) WB page 28.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Audacity recording: Thursday, 12/9 (Lesson Five text and 3 sentences from  Review Sound1 handout).  2) Ms. Chang is not available tomorrow afternoon due to a teacher meeting.  3) Introduce/model a website: http://ecl.iflytek.com.   Have to use Internet Explorer as the browser.
  2. 1) Quick review (筆/笔, 毛筆/笔, 書/书, 書/书包, 尺, 剪刀).  2) Take turns quick reading (Review Sounds1 handout: sentences #1- #16).
  3. 1) Teach new characters (橡, 皮, 不).  2) Introduce negative sentence pattern.
  4. Go over Review Sounds 1 handout (sentences #17-#24).

Procedure for HS 2P (11/29/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to review learned terms and practice listening comprehension through Ms’s Chang’s sample sentences.  2) Students will be able to utilize an excellent website utility.

功課: 1) Practice reading passages.  2) WB page 5.

程序:

  1. 1) Return papers (chapter test, projects, homework, etc).  2) Ms. Chang is not available tomorrow afternoon due to a teacher meeting.  3) Reintroduce/model a website: http://ecl.iflytek.com.  Have to use Internet Explorer as the browser.

Procedure for HS 9P (11/29/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to acquire new characters.  2) Students will gain fluency through a listening activity. 3) Students will be able to utilize an excellent website utility.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) WB 28.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Audacity recording: Thursday, 12/9.  Lesson Three chapter test : Monday/Tuesda, 12/6 or 12/7.  2) Ms. Chang is not available tomorrow afternoon due to a teacher meeting.  3) Return papers (quiz #2, oral presentation).  4) The following students (Nathaniel, Lillian, Caitlin, Kathryn, Anthony) make an appointment with Ms. Chang to complete your oral presentation by this Friday.  If you do not come, points for the oral part are gone!!  5) Conversation questions will continue on Wednesday.

  6. Take turns reading text passages on pages 29-31.

Procedure for MS 3P (11/29/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn basic greeting terms.  2) Students will be able to learn basic Hanyu pinyin system today.  3) Students will be able to complete the China reading packet.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. Class work: Complete your reading packet (10 minutes).  Collect.
  2. Pass out/go over Introduction to Hanyu pinyin handout
  3. Teach new terms (Ni Hao, Lao Shi, Zai Jian).

Procedure for MS 5P (11/29/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to gain fluency through cite reading.  2) Students will be able to conduct simple conversation questions.  3) Students will be able to utilize an excellent website tool.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) WB page 28.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Audacity recording (Lesson Five text passages and three sentences from Review Sounds 1 handout): Wednesday, 12/8/10.  2) Quick review (筆/笔, 毛筆/笔, 書/书, 書/书, 尺, 剪刀, 橡皮).  3) Introduce/model a website: http://ecl.iflytek.com.   Have to use Internet Explorer as the browser.
  2. 1) Take turns quick reading (sentences #1- #20).  2) Review negative sentence pattern.
  3. Go over Review Sounds 1 handout (sentences #21-#24).
  4. Group activity: 1) Simple conversation questions (question, answer, negative) w/6 supplies in the bag.  2) Wrap up: Ms. Chang randomly calls on students for informal assessment.
