Procedures for 11/18/10

Procedure for HS 1P (11/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to gain reading fluency through cite reading sentences.  2) Students will be able to acquire new characters in Lesson Five.  Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading sentences.

Procedure:

1.   Teach new characters (筆/笔, 毛, 書/书, 包, 尺).

2.   Go over Review Sounds 1 handout.  Pair practice.

3.   DVD: Shanghai Makeover.

Procedure for HS 2P (11/18/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to compare/contrast traditions in America and China.  2) Students will acquire new characters in Lesson One.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Continue to answer questions in Movie handout.

程序:

1.   Teach new characters (定, 忘, 記/记, 難/难,如)-一定, 忘了, 忘記, 記得, 日記, 如果.

2.   DVD: The Road Home.

Procedure for HS 9P (11/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will review for quiz tomorrow.  2) Students will polish their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills through a mismatch activity.

功課: Study for quiz tomorrow (18 terms-8 rooms, 6 appliances/furniture, 4 adjectives)

Procedure:

1.   1) Return papers. Fix and return for credit.   2) Check out sample sentences.  3) Examine text page 31!!

2.   Matching activity.

3.   Class activity: Read text passage on page 34.

4.   Mismatch activity: Each student gets/write on 4 blank colored slips.  Write on 1) Red: your name, 2) Blue: time, 3) Green: place, and 4) Yellow: activity.  Ms. Chang and helpers will collect for grades.

Procedure for MS 3P (11/18/10)

Objectives: Students will be able to showcase their speaking skill through an oral presentation.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural knowledge about Chinese folk art and food.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. Questions before presentation?
  2. Oral presentation.

Procedure for MS 5P (11/18/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to make recording of Lesson Four text passages.  2) Students will review materials through playing interactive computer games.  3) Students will utilize a website site to review Hanyu phonetic system.

Homework: Review learned new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Get a headset/microphone, a text passages slip, and this short instruction for today’s activities.
  2. Save your file as <last name>LessonFour.wav and submit to Ms. Chang’s MS 5P folder.  Turn in your text passages slip.
  3. Go to P drive, click Ms. Chang’s folder and log onto Ni Hao 1 interactive game.
  4. Log onto http://www.learnnc.org/lp/editions/mandarin1/contents.  Click Pinyin foundations section or Chinese writing section to learn more about Chinese phonetics and Chinese characters.
