Procedures for 12/15/10

Procedure for HS 1P (12/15/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to polish their oral fluency through cite reading practice.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural/historical knowledge about the Great Wall of China.

Homework: 1) Practice reading sentences.  2) Write new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ignore the movie discussion questions that Ms. Chang sent you over this weekend.  We’ll do it when school assumes on 1/3/11.  2) Return audacity slip.  Comments (1/3 of 240+ characters are done already!) and Questions?  3) Missing/makeup work (Abby/Claire/Stefan-3 sentences; Jason-3 characters).  4) Send your family picture(s) by 1/3/11.
  2. 1) Ms. Chang checks the completeness of your characters worksheet definitions.  2) Quick reading (#1-#6).  3) Go over Review Sounds #2 (#7-#10).
  3. DVD: the Great Wall of China.

Procedure for HS 2P (12/15/10)

目標: Students will be able to finish up Lesson One text passages.

功課: 1) Make sentences (怎麼V…, 在V, ….那麼…, ).  2) Complete WB page 9 interview questions part.

程序:

  1. 1) Ignore the movie discussion questions worksheet that Ms. Chang sent over the weekend.  Will do this when school reassumes on 1/3/11.  2) Return Lesson One quiz #2 papers and audacity slips.  Questions and comments?  3) Ben/Kaitlyn/Alex/Trey talk to Ms. Chang after class, please.
  2. Read text passages on pages 6-7.
  3. Go over answer key to workbook page 14.
  4. Pair/Group work: WB page 9—develop/write down questions.

Procedure for HS 9P (12/15/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to start Lesson Four today and learn new characters for 4 colors.  2) Students will be able to make colors flash cards for Lesson Four.

功課: 1) Complete vocabulary definitions.  2) Write new characters.

Procedure:

1.   1) Take one copy of Lesson Four characters worksheet.  2) Ignore the movie discussion questions worksheet that Ms. Chang sent you over the weekend.  We will do this when school resumes on 1/3/11.  3) The following students (Benita, Caelin, Claire, Colin, Aashna) talk to Ms. Chang for makeup work, please.

2.   Pass out index cards and colored strips.  Check completeness before the end of the class.

3.   Teach new characters (紅, 色, 白, 黃, 黑).

Procedure for MS 3P (12/15/10)

Objectives: Through various activities, students will be able to review for quiz #2 tomorrow.

Homework: Study for quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.  1) Turn in your characters writing assignment tomorrow.  2) Quick review with Chinese characters (yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi, ling, bai) and (木, 水, 人, 火, 口, 山).

2.  Review Chinese counting principle with the hundred table.  Count from 0 to 100.

3.  Seat work: cutting paper pattern: longevity.

**  Revised concert assembly bell schedule (30 minutes/period) today.

Procedure for MS 5P (12/15/10)

Objectives: Students will be able to view a Chinese movie to compare and contrast Chinese and American traditions.

Homework: Fill out the questions worksheet.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of movie discussion questions worksheet.  Electronic version has been sent to you over the weekend.  Due date: Friday midnight.  2) The following students talk to Ms. Chang, please (Kate, Megan Sullivan/Jubilee, Brandon Smith, Kyle, Cole, Megan G., Rachel Lurz, Alison, Brandon Halupnik).  3) Showcase a few sample recordings (Jordan, Sam, Priya).  4) Return audacity slip.  Comments/Questions?  Half way already!!  5) Turn in your family picture(s).  It is due on 1/3/11.
  2. Go over discussion questions.
  3. Movie time (30minutes).  Take notes and jot down answers.
