Procedures for 12/16/10

Procedure for HS 1P (12/16/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn new characters in lesson six.  2) Students will be able to polish their reading/speaking skills through cite reading practice.  3) Students will be able to gain cultural/technological knowledge about man-made marvels in Beijing.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading sentences.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Abby (audacity slip), Claire (audacity slip, definitions), and Stefan (audacity slip) talk to Ms. Chang, please.  2) Makeup work (Darian).  3) Quick review (#1-#10).  2) Go over sentences (#11-14).
  2. Teach new characters (哥, 弟).
  3. DVD: Beijing makeover.

Procedure for HS 2P (12/16/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to gain cultural/technological knowledge about man-made marvels in Beijing.  2) Students will be able to review Lesson One material by making sentences.

功課: WB page 10.

程序:

  1. 1) Turn in your three sentences homework.  2) Ms. Chang checks your interview questions on WB page 9.  3) Quick reading: text passages on pages 6-7.
  2. Interview classmates, and record down their answers.
  3. DVD: Beijing makeover.

Procedure for HS 9P (12/16/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn new characters for colors.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural/technological knowledge about innovative buildings in Beijing.

功課: Write new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review with note cards.  2) Teach new characters (綠, 藍, 棕, 紫). 3) Return Lesson Three test papers, audacity slips and characters worksheet.
  2. DVD: Beijing makeover.

Procedure for MS 3P (12/16/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their mastery of unit #2: numbers today.  2) Students will be able to start a new unit #3: family today.  3) Students will be able to explore Chinese folk art: cutting papers today.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your characters writing assignment.  2) Quick review.  2) Quiz #2.
  2. Connecting the dot activity.  Collect.
    1. Seat work: cut paper patterns (longevity, double happiness).  Collect for grades.

Procedure for MS 5P (12/16/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to watch a movie to compare/contrast Chinese/American/other countries’ traditions.  2) Students will be able to polish their oral fluency through cite reading practice.  3) Students will be able to learn new characters in Lesson Six.

Homework: 1) Practice reading sentences.  2) Write new characters.  3) Fill out discussion questions worksheet.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Ryan: characters worksheet? / Jordan: WB pages 30/31 / Brandon, 2 Megans / Cole: audacity).  2) Quick review sentences (#1-#8).  3) Return all papers (chapter test, characters worksheet).
  2. Go over Review Sounds #2 (#9-#12).
  3. Movie time.
