Procedure for HS 1P (12/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn question sentence pattern and possessive terms today.  2) Students will be able to practice conversation questions today.

Homework: 1) WB page 29 Section D.  2) Practice Review Sounds 1 handout.  Count for participation grade tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. Listening activity: WB page 27 Section A.  Go over answer key to WB page.
  2. 1) Teach new characters (嗎, 的).  2) Teach questioning sentence pattern and possessive terms.
  3. 1) Quick review (筆/笔, 毛筆/笔, 書/书, 書/书 包, 尺, 剪刀, 橡皮,知道).  2) Review sentence patterns: Negative statement.
  4. Read text passages on pages 32-33.
  5. Group conversation activity: 1) Practice asking/identifying objects.  2) Practice negative statements.  3) Practice question statements.  4) Practice possessive statements, if time allows.

Procedure for HS 2P (12/1/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to learn websites that facilitate the communication with native speakers.  2) Students will review room and direction terms for navigating in the school building.  3) Students will be able to acquire more new characters.

功課: Practice reading text passages on pages 3-5.  Count as participation grade on Thursday.

程序:

  1. 1) Introduce websites: Livemocha.com / Hello-Hello.com / www.eChineselearning.com.  2) Introduce Summer program/Study Abroad opportunity.
  2. Review terms (圖書館, 禮堂, 校長室, 體育館, 辦公室, 電腦房/室, 音樂教室, 科學教室, 數學教室, 化學教室, 歷史, 地理, 物理, 美術教室, 家政教室, 生物學教室, 體育辦公室, 實驗室).
  3. 1) Go over direction terms (一樓, 二樓, 地下一樓, 樓梯, 最右邊, 最左邊, 最後面, 最上面, 最下面, 中間, 最前面, 裡面, 外面, 對面).  2) Go over floor plan handout / specify directions of various rooms.
  4. Group activity: WB page 11 #1-#5.  Go over answer key/your answer on board.

Procedure for HS 9P (12/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review all exclamation expressions today.  2) Students will be able to take their Wednesday conversation quiz routine today.  3) Students will be able to acquire new characters today.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Prepare for reading text passages on pages 29-31 and 34 on Thursday.  3) Writing assignment.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return WB page 28.  2) Turn in makeup work.  3) Introduce three websites to communicate with native speakers: Livemocha.com, www.eChineseLearning.com, and Hello-Hello.com.  4) Study Summer program/study abroad opportunity.
    1. Go over exclamation expression characters (嗎, 呢, 啊, 唉, 咦, 哪).
    2. Teach new characters (回, 事, 套, 送, 唉)── 時事, 回來, 回去, 送來, 送去.
  2. Seat work: 1) Practice reading text passages on 29-31, and 34; 2) Work on writing assignment. / 6 students take your conversation quiz (James, Adam F., Cait, Kate, Caelan, Anthony).

Procedure for MS 3P (12/1/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to acquire new greeting terms.  2) Students will be able to write simple Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete writing Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return China reading packet.  Go over the answer key.  Questions?  2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Lao Shi, Zai Jian, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Wu An, Wan An).  2) Review Chinese characters.
  2. Teach new greeting terms (Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao).
  3. Teach 4 new Chinese characters.
