Procedure for HS 1P (12/17/10/)

Objectives: Students will be able to gain cultural/technological knowledge about man-made marvels in Beijing.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading sentences.

Procedure:

  1. DVD: Beijing makeover.

** 30 minutes today due to a double 2P concert assembly.

Procedure for HS 2P (12/17/10)

目標: 1) Students will be able to practice their speaking/listening skills through sharing interview result.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural/technological knowledge about man-made marvels in Beijing.

功課: N/A

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks the completeness of WB page 10.  2) Ms. Chang grades your work.
  2. Conversation practice: Sharing results from WB page 9.
  3. DVD: Beijing makeover.

Procedure for HS 9P (12/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to finish up characters for all 11 colors.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural/technological knowledge about man-made marvels in Beijing.

功課: Writing new characters.

Procedure:

1.   1) Lesson Four quiz #1 (11 colors): Wednesday, 1/5/11.  2) Quick review (8 colors).

2.   Teach new characters (粉, 灰).

3.   DVD: Beijing makeover.

Procedure for MS 3P (12/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to gain cultural knowledge about Chinese traditional arts and superstition about numbers.  2) Students will be able to review all learned characters through a newspaper hunting activity.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return quiz #2 papers.  2) Quiz #3: Friday, 1/7/11.  3) Teach new terms (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei).
  2. Culture reading: Lucky and unlucky numbers.
  3. Newspaper hunting activity.

Procedure for MS 5P (12/17/10)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to compare and contrast different cultural traditions through viewing a movie.  2) Students will be able to polish their oral proficiency through cite reading practice.

Homework: Movie discussion questions.  Due midnight today.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Ryan/Marissa: WB page, definitions). 2) Quick review (#1-#12).  2) Turn in your movie discussion questions before you leave, if you prefer.
  2. Teach new characters (爸, 媽, 哥).
  3. Movie time.
