Procedures for 1/7/11

Procedure for HS 1P (1/7/11)

Objectives:  1) Students will be able to finish up watching the movie and finalize their discussion questions worksheet.  2) Students will be able to review learned consonants and vowels through a listening activity.

Homework: 1) Practice Review Sounds 2 sentences and conversation questions.  2) Study all terms.

Procedure:

1.   1) Turn in your Movie Discussion Questions worksheet at the end of the class or e-mail Ms. Chang before midnight today.  2) Explanation time.  Questions about movie?

2.   Movie time.

3.   1) Listening activity: WB page 5 / Sections E and F.  2) Go over answer key.

Procedure for HS 2P (1/7/11)

目標: 1) Students will be able to review for their Lesson One chapter test.  2) Students will be able to practice a new sentence pattern in Lesson Two.

功課: Study for Lesson One Chapter test Part II on next Monday.

程序:

  1. Turn in your Movie Discussion Questions worksheet at the end of the class or e-mail Ms. Chang before midnight today.
  2. Browse through textbook pages and create a writing problem set.
  3. Review: work on sample writing problems.
  4. Conversation time.

Procedure for HS 9P (1/7/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to finish up watching the movie and finalize their discussion questions worksheet.  2) Students will be able to review clothing items.  3) Students will be able to compose some semester exam problem sets by studying together.

1.   1) Turn in your Movie Discussion Questions worksheet at the end of the class or e-mail Ms. Chang before midnight today.  2) Explanation time.  Questions about movie or assignment?   3) Quick review (毛衣, 上衣, 大衣, 內衣, 外衣, 游泳衣, 外套, 手套, 裙子, 褲/裤子, 鞋子, 襪/袜子, 短褲/裤, 長褲/裤, 游泳褲/裤, 皮鞋, 球鞋).

2.   Movie time.

3.   Group work: divide into three groups (Lessons 1, 2, and 3) of 9-10 students, working on listening, reading, and writing problems.  Pick out a captain and a deputy for each group first.  Work on your assignment.  Due in class on next Tuesday.

Procedure for MS 3P (1/7/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their mastery of unit #3.  2) Students will be able to prepare note cards for unit #4.  3) Students will be able to view a video about Chinese programs in America.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return Oral presentation draft #1.  Comments and/or questions?  2) Quick review (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, sui, jia, you, ge ren, he, sheng ri, de, nian, liang, yue).  3) Quiz #3.
  2. 1) Pass out colored strips, glue sticks, and note cards.  2) Make colored flash cards.  Collect for grades.
  3. DVD: Promote Chinese program.

Procedure for MS 5P (1/7/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to practice conversation questions and Review Sounds 2 sentences for their semester exam oral part.  2) Students will be able to study and review for their semester exam.

Homework: Practice reading Review Sounds 2 sentences and answering conversation questions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang will e-mail you group problem sets over the weekend.  Print them out.  2) Matching activity before?  3) Missing work?
  2. 1) Take turns reading Review Sounds 2 sentences #1 – #22.  2) Practice conversation questions.
  3. Ms. Chang checks conversation practice.
  4. Read Lesson One pages 1-6.
  5. Write sentences (There are # people in my family, My < family member > is # years old, etc).  Keep your draft.
