Homeroom (1/10/11)

Get your semester exam permission slip and turn in on/before Friday.  No school on Monday, 1/14.

Procedure for HS 1P (1/10/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to review/practice conversation questions and Review Sounds 2 handout for their semester oral exam.

Homework: Study!!

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Study Guide for the First Semester Exam.  2) Makeup/Missing work (Stefan, Troy, Darian).  3) Ms. Chang is not available after school due to a staff meeting tomorrow.  4) Go over the Study Guide.  Questions.
  2. Pair work: take turns reading sentences from the Review Sounds 2 handout.  Questions?
  3. Mock oral exam: practice conversation questions.

**  There are only 38 minutes due to an extended homeroom for assembly today.

Procedure for HS 2P (1/10/11)

目標: 1) Students will be able to showcase their mastery of Lesson One materials.  2) Students will be able to compile problem sets for their first semester exam.

功課: Study for mid-term.

  1. 1) Quick review (directions, etc).  Questions?  2) Ms. Chang is not available after school due to a staff meeting tomorrow.  3) Lesson One chapter test part II.
  2. Group work: divided into 3 groups of 2-3 students and working on problem sets for our first semester exam.  Each group develops a set of listening, reading and writing problems for Lesson One, Lesson Two or Lesson Three.  Count as class participation grade.  Electronic draft version is due at midnight of Thursday.  Continue tomorrow.

Procedure for HS 9P (1/10/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review colors and clothes items for their conversation questions.  2) Students will be able to review and work on semester exam problem exam sets.

功課: 1) Review all 11 colors and memorize terms cloth items.  One conversation question for you on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.  2) Problem sets (electronic version) due at the beginning of the class tomorrow.  E-mail Ms. Chang

Procedure:

1.   1) Take one copy of Study Guide for the First Semester Exam.  2) Quick review of colors ().  3) Quick review of clothes items (毛衣, 上衣, 大衣, 內衣, 外衣, 游泳衣, 外套, 手套, 裙子, 褲/裤子, 鞋子, 襪/袜子, 短褲/裤, 長褲/裤, 游泳褲/裤, 皮鞋, 球鞋).  3) Missing work (Caelin, Adam F., James, Bryan, Lilian, Wyatt, Bailey, Antonio.  Michaela: group member assignments).  4) Individual work is due at 10 PM tonight.  Captains will report tomorrow who is not turning his/her work.  5) Ms. Chang is not available after school due to a staff meeting tomorrow.

2.   Group work: MC (listening and reading) and writing part .

Procedure for MS 3P (1/10/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese zodiac story and Chinese terms for zodiac animals.  2) Students will be able to view a video of promoting Chinese language program.  3) Students will be able to start a new unit: colors today.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Practice reading draft #1 to a partner.  2) Teach new terms (Hei Se, Bai Se, Hong Se, Huang Se).
  2. Finish up the sports handout.
  3. DVD: promoting Chinese language program.
  4. Culture study: Chinese zodiac story / Legend of Giant pandas.

Procedure for MS 5P (1/10/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to take their first semester exam: oral part today.  2) Students will be able to study independently or in pairs for their first semester exam.

Homework: STUDY!!

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Study Guide for the First Semester Exam.  2) Thursday (1/13/11): Writing and Pinyin/tone parts; Friday (1/14/11): Multiple choice (Reading and culture parts).  3) Try to work on writing part sample problems.  4) Mistakes on sample problem sets????.  5) Go over 8 conversation question categories.
  2. Ms. Chang randomly draws students to complete oral exam (3 Review Sounds2 handout sentences and 4 conversation questions).
  3. Students study independently or in pairs.  Ask group members/Mike Zheng for help.
