Procedures for 1/12/11

Procedure for HS 1P (1/12/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to practice conversation questions.  2) Students will be able to review learned characters.

Homework: 1) Study!  2) Practice reading sentences and conversation dialogue.

Procedure:

1.         Missing work (Stefan, Darian).

2.         Quick review (和, 也, 工, 護, 士, 爸, 媽, 哥, 弟, 姊, 姐, 妹, 的, 家, 有, 個, 今, 年, 歲).

3.         Whole class conversation practice.

Procedure for HS 2P (1/12/11)

目標: 1) Students will be able to review/compile their semester exam sample problems today. 2) Students will be able to practice conversation questions.

功課: Problem sets are due in class tomorrow.

程序:

1.   Return Movie Discussion Questions.  Comments / Sharing.

2.   Conversation dialogue: 1) < place > 在哪裡=> < place > 在… 2) A 離B 有多遠?  => A 離B 有# 英里

3.   Group work.

Procedure for HS 9P (1/12/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to complete mismatch activity to review terms for time, place and actions.  2) Students will be able to practice describing one’s clothes in terms of colors and styles.

功課: Study!!

Procedure:

1.   Mismatch (Eddie, Adam F., Bryan, Jacklyn, Kate, Michaela, Colin, Pamela, Ryan, Wyatt, John, Adam Y.)

2.   Conversation questions.

3.   Seat work: 1) Flash cards activity.  2) Seat work: WB page 32: #1-#5.  3) Taking one conversation question.

Procedure for MS 3P (1/12/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to finish learning all 11 colors today.  2) Students will be able to construct three more oral presentation sentences.  3) Students will be able to have hands-on Tangram activity.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

1.      1) Quick review (Hei Se, Bai Se, Hong Se, Huang Se, Lan Se, Lu Se, Zong Se, Cheng Se).  2) Teach new terms (Zi Se, Hui Se, Fen Hong Se, Xi Huan, Zui).

2.      1) Teach supplementary terms (animals, sports)?  2) Complete sentences #8-10 (color, sports, animal/pet).  3) Pair practice: read sentences #1-#10 (except #7).

3.      Explain lunar calendar to find out your animal year.

4.      Tangram pieces.

Procedure for MS 5P (1/12/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to finish up their oral exam today.  2) Students will be able to study independently or in pairs to prepare for their semester exam and complete their writing assignment.

Homework: Study for semester exam.

Procedure:

1.         1) Turn in your writing assignment about your family at the end of the class.  2) Stay after class to finish your oral exam tomorrow, if you cannot finish up in class today.

2.         10-12 students will be drawn randomly to take their oral exam today.

3.         Review all learned characters/terms, consonants and vowels, and cultural knowledge.
