Procedure for HS 1P (1/12/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to practice conversation questions.  2) Students will be able to review learned characters.

Homework: 1) Study!  2) Practice reading sentences and conversation dialogue.

Procedure:

1.         Missing work (Stefan, Darian).

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to finish up their oral exam today.  2) Students will be able to study independently or in pairs to prepare for their semester exam and complete their writing assignment.

Procedure:

1.         1) Turn in your writing assignment about your family at the end of the class.  2) Stay after class to finish your oral exam tomorrow, if you cannot finish up in class today.

2.         10-12 students will be drawn randomly to take their oral exam today.

3.         Review all learned characters/terms, consonants and vowels, and cultural knowledge.

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to make two origami products.  2) Students will be able to work on oral presentation sentence patterns.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Practice reading sentences.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Ben, Julia H., Julia G., Tommy, Matt, Sam P., Anna—paper patterns; Antonio: 12 characters worksheet).  2) Quick review (sui, jia, ge ren, he).  3) Teach new term (you).
  2. 1) Write sentences #1-#3 (Wo Shi, Wo # Sui, Wo Jia You # Ge Ren).  2) Practice reading sentences.
  3. Complete Origami.  Collect for grades.

Procedure for MS 5P (1/4/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to make their 2011 New Year’s Resolutions today.  2) Students will be able to work on writing sample group work.

Homework: 1) Practice reading sentences and conversation questions.  2) Complete your group work writing assignment.  Due midnight Thursday.  3) New Year’s Resolutions worksheet due tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of 2011 New Year’s Resolutions.  Turn in family picture(s).  2) Finish up Movie Discussion Questions.  Circulate exemplary writing samples.  3) First Semester conversation questions test: Monday-Wednesday, 1/10/11-1/12/11 (conversation questions and 3 “Review Sounds 2” handout sentences).  First Semester writing test: Thursday-Friday, 1/13/11-1/14/11 (MC / Writing).
  2. Go over New Year’s Resolutions handout.
  3. Go over specifics of Group work (writing problems, reading MC, and listening MC).  Seat work.  Collect job assignment slips from captains.

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to share their discussion questions about the movie they watch in December.  2) Students will be able to review for their semester exam on Thursday and Friday, 1/13/11 and 1/14/11.

Homework: Problem writing due this Thursday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return Movie Discussion Questions papers.  Explanation, comments & sharing from summary.  2) Pass out homework passes.  3) Missing work (Anthony, Jubilee, Alison).  Sam, Jubilee and Collin talk to Ms. Chang after class, please.
