Procedure for HS 1P (1/25/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to view a video and gain historical knowledge about ancient Chinese dynasties. 2) Students will be able to gain reading and speaking fluency through reading text passages.

Homework: 1) WB pages 34 & 37. 2) Revised family paragraph is due tomorrow.

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one copy of Great Periods in Ancient China. 2) Turn in your revised family paragraph, if you are ready. 3) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 35. .

2. Video: China: From Past to Present: The Silk Road, the Great Wall, and Changes in Government. Video quiz. Collect your answers as participation grade.

4. Read text passages on pages 43-44.

5. Simple conversation practice (, 不是, , 沒有, , ).

Procedure for HS 2P (1/25/11)

目標: Students will be able to practice their reading/speaking skills through reading text and practicing conversation.

功課: 1) WB page 16.  2) Practice reading text passage on page 18.  

程序:

1. 1) Turn in your homework (4 sentences). 2) Conversation review session (A B有多遠? => A B# 英里; 將近; 不到; 你怎麼上學?).

2. Read text passage on page 18.

3. Review sentence pattern 1) A B有多遠? = A B有多遠? 2) A B <mode of transportation > 要多久? = A <mode of transportation > B要多久?).

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to sharpen their listening skill through two listening activities. 2) Students will be able to gain oral/reading fluency through reading text passages. 3) Students will be able to view a video about ancient Chinese dynasties.

Homework: 1) WB page 30 (complete the sentences). 2) Practice reading text passage on page 43. 3) Review Lessons 1-3 text. Listening quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to gain basic knowledge about China’s major cities and geographic layout. 2) Students will be able to know Ms. Chang’s classroom expectations.

Homework: Signature slip due on Thursday, 2/27/11.

Procedure:

1. 1) Quiz #1: Friday, 2/3/11. 2) Pass out/Go over Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.

2. Culture reading: The Introduction to China (page 1).

3. Pair activity: China reading packet (15-20 minutes

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to gain listening, speaking and reading proficiency through reading, listening and conversation activities.

Homework: WB pages 34 & 37.

Procedure:

1. 1) Take one copy of song lyrics. 2) Return video quiz papers. Go over the answer key. 3) Any allergic issue? Diet restriction? 3) Room moms are needed for 2/4/11. Talk to parents, please. 4) Quick review (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ). 5) Oral presentation from Mon-Wed (1/31-2/2).
