Procedure for HS 1P (1/26/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn a Happy New Year song today.  2) Students will be able to gain oral fluency through practicing conversation and reading passage.      

Homework: Practice reading text passages.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Six text passages slip.  Turn in your revised family paragraph, if you have not done so.  2) Turn in your WB.  Missing family pictures (Josh).  Get digital pictures to replace your regular photos for PPT, please.  3) Go over simple checklist for your oral presentation.  4) Showcase a demo PPT.  5) Chinese Club group picture: 8P this afternoon.  6) Interested in being a counselor at the OFLA Chinese camp (4th-6th students in Belleville, OH)?
  2. Read text passages on pages 43-44.  Round robin read starts from tomorrow.  Count for your class participation grade.
  3. Go over lyrics/Song time (http://www.epochtimes.com/b5/9/1/24/n2408181.htm).
  4. Pair practice (5-8 minutes).

Procedure for HS 2P (1/26/11)

目標: 1) Students will be able to showcase their mastery of text passage on page 18.  2) Students will be able to practice a Chinese New Year song.  3) Students will practice a sentence pattern to express how long it takes to travel between two places in various transportation modes.

功課: WB page 17. 

程序:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Two text passages slip.  2) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 16.  Fix your mistakes before you earn your credit.  Return your 4-sentence homework.  Trey/Alex talk to Ms. Chang, please.  3) Chinese Club group picture: 8P this afternoon.  4) Interested in being a counselor at the OFLA Chinese camp (4th-6th students in Belleville, OH)?

  3. Review/practice speaking (從A 到B <mode of transportation > 要多久? =  從A <mode of transportation > 到B要多久?)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their oral fluency through a round robin reading of text passages.  2) Students will be able to learn to sing a Happy Chinese New Year song. 

Homework: Practice reading text passage.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your WB.  2) Interested in being a counselor at the OFLA Chinese camp (4th-6th students in Belleville, OH)?
  2. 1) Finish video.  Video quiz.  2) Song time (http://www.epochtimes.com/b5/9/1/24/n2408181.htm).
  3. 3. 1) Conversation questions (what clothes do you wear?).  Q/A session.  2) Quick reading: Text passages on page 43.  Round robin reading.  Participation grade! 

Procedure for MS 3P (1/26/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to gain historical/cultural/linguistic knowledge about China and Chinese Hanyu phonetic system.  2) Students will be able to complete their reading packet about China.  3) Students will be able to learn basic greeting terms.  

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Signature slip due tomorrow.    

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your signature slip, if available.  2) Makeup work (Kelley, Grace)?
  2. 1) DVD: Places in China.  2) Finish up China reading packet.  Collect.
  3. Go over the Introduction to Hanyu Pinyin handout.
  4. Teach new terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi…, Wo Shi…, Zai Jian

Procedure for MS 5P (1/26/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn a Happy New Year song today.  2) Students will be able to gain oral fluency through conversation practice, reading text passage and interview activity.      

Homework: 1) Practice reading text passages.  2) WB page 36.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Lesson Six chapter test: Monday, 2/7/11.  Take one copy of Lesson Six text passage slip.  2) Captains check WB pages (34/37).  Ms. Chang randomly checks a few.  3) Turn in your family paragraph, if you have not done so.  Missing family pictures ().  Replace your regular family pictures with digital ones for your PPT, please.  4) Go over simple checklist for the oral presentation next week.
