Procedures for 2/9/11

Procedure for HS 1P (2/9/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their reading/speaking fluency through round robin reading activity.  2) Students will be able to review for tomorrow’s chapter test. 

Homework: Study for chapter test. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work: WB page 40 (Ellen, Abby).  2) Turn in your Lesson Six characters worksheet tomorrow for credit.  3) Take one copy of Lesson Six Study Guide.  Go over Study Guide.
  2. 1) Review (姓, 名, 字, 呢) with terms (姓名, 名字).  2) Review/practice various ways to introduce yourself (你叫什麼名字? 你的名字是什麼?).  3) Conversation time.
  3. Class assessment: Round robin reading.
  4. Practice writing problems.

Procedure for HS 2P (2/9/11)

目標: 1) Students will be able to give/follow directions to arrive at a destination.  2) Students will be able to sharpen their reading/speaking skills through a round robin reading activity.

功課: 1) WB page 21 #4-#5.  2) Master all direction-giving terms.

程序:

  1. 1) Quick review (前, 後, 到, 左, 右, 往, 轉, 附, 郵, 局, < verb > 後).  2) Teach new characters (過, 繼, 續, 燈) with terms (十字路口, 紅綠燈).
  2. Pair practice: Practice terms (往前走, 往右轉, 往左轉, 往回走, 在馬路右邊, 在馬路左邊, 到十字路口, 就到了, 就在) with actions.
  3. 1) Round robin reading (page 20)—class participation.  2) Read first half of page 21.

Procedure for HS 9P (2/9/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to practice sentence patterns for chapter test.  2) Students will be able to polish reading/speaking/listening skills through a round robin reading routine and listening comprehension activity.  3) Students will be able to express their opinion through a fashion show.    

Homework: 1) WB page 35.  2) Practice reading text pages 46-47.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review—direction terms (上面, 下面, 左邊, 右邊, 前面, 後面, 裡面, 外面, 對面).  2) Quick review—measure words (件, 條, 套, 雙, 隻, 匹, 個).  3) Quick review—room terms (浴室, 廚房, 客廳, 電冰箱, 電視機).
  2. 1) Listening activity: WB page 34.  2) Go over the answer key.
  3. Writing practice on dry erase board.
  4. Fashion show—expressing your opinions (你看……怎麼樣).
  5. Class participation: Round robin reading: text page 45.

Procedure for MS 3P (2/9/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review/acquire more terms for numbers.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural knowledge about Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers.

Homework: N/A.

Procedure:

  1. 1) 7R students take quiz #1.  2) Return all papers.
  2. Peer teaching (wu, liu, qi, ba) with Chinese characters.
  3. Skit presentation (Kelley, Angel, Grace, Larisa).
  4. DVD: 1) Promoting FL/Chinese language.  2) Listening: music with numbers.
  5. Cultural reading: Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers.

Procedure for MS 5P (2/9/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their speaking fluency by making an audacity recording.  2) Students will be able to do a web quest about China today.

Homework: Study for chapter test tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. Take a headset w/microphone, a copy of highlighted text passages for recording and a copy of Web quest worksheet.
  2. Complete your recording and submit to Ms. Chang’s folder in O drive.
  3. Go to P drive and click Ni Hao 1 game to review Lesson Six.
  4. Follow Web quest instructions to complete questions.  Collect.
