Procedures for 2/10/11

Procedure for HS 1P (2/10/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to showcase their mastery of Lesson Six materials.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review.  Questions?  2) Turn in your Lesson Six characters worksheet.
  2. Lesson Six Chapter Test.

Procedure for HS 2P (2/10/11)

目標: Students will be able to study in pairs or in groups to prepare for Amazing Race next week.

功課: Study for quiz tomorrow.

程序:

  1. 1) Introduce Amazing Race various tasks.  2) Pass out building diagram and supplementary terms.
  2. Students match building layout with Chinese terms (various classroom terms, offices, etc).

3.   Students review learned terms (money, fruits, weather, math expressions, etc).

Procedure for HS 9P (2/10/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to play a scavenger hunt to review/reinforce a new concept of “look for”.  2) Students will be able to polish their listening/reading fluency through a listening activity.  3) Students will be able to celebrate Chinese New Year by visiting other FL classroom, singing a Happy Chinese New Year and introducing Chinese traditions.

Homework: Complete WB pages 36 and 33, if not complete in class.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your WB pages 35/36 tomorrow.  2) Listening comprehension: WB page 36.
  2. Practice writing on the dry erase board.
  3. Game time: Scavenger hunt (listening).
  4. Introduce and Compare/contrast (有沒有 (noun—ownership) ó 有沒有 (verb—past tense or past participle)) with examples.  WB page 33
  5. Singing / line up (candy, camera, etc).

Procedure for MS 3P (2/10/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn the remaining terms for numbers (9, 10, 0, hundred).  2) Students will be able to review Chinese characters through a newspaper scavenger hunt activity.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba).  2) Teach new terms (jiu, shi, ling, bai).
    1. Newspaper scavenger hunt: look for characters for numbers and simple pictograph characters.

Procedure for MS 5P (2/10/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review for their Lesson Six chapter test tomorrow.  2) Students will be able to view a video about the Forbidden City in China.  3) Students will be able to finish up the oral presentation.

Homework: Study for the chapter test.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Six Study Guide.  2) Go over the Study Guide.  3) Turn in your Lesson Six characters worksheet tomorrow.
  2. Practice writing on the dry erase board.
  3. Oral presentation (Alex).
  4. DVD: Seven Wonders of China: Forbidden City.
