Procedures for 2/16/11

Procedure for HS 1P (2/16/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to use counting words for various animals.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Complete Review grammar worksheet.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Review Grammar worksheet & one copy of song lyrics.  2) Makeup work (Claire, Darian, Troy). 2) Quick review (狗, 貓, 鳥).  2) Teach new characters (金, 魚, 馬, 隻, 條, 匹) with term (金子).  .
  2. Pair practice: 1) Practice simple phrases (# counting word animals).  2) Read text passage on page 54.  3) Complete Review grammar worksheet.
  3. Learn Chinese version of a French song.

Procedure for HS 2P (2/16/11)

目標: Students will be able to ask where various places are and how to get to various places.

功課: 1) Practice reading text passage on page 22.  2) Write new characters. 

程序:

1.   1) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 23.  2) Go over the answer key.  3) Turn in your two models.  4) Round robin reading / conversation questions start tomorrow.  5) Quick review (逛街, 有空).  6) Compare/contrast sentence patterns: 1) < noun / place > 在哪裡? ó 2) 在哪裡 < verb >?

2.   Teach new characters (廣, 亭) with terms (廣場, 涼亭, 電話亭, 火車站).

3.   Read text passage on pages 22-23

Procedure for HS 9P (2/16/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to express money orally and in writing.  2) Students will be able to ask for prices in various ways.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice saying/expressing money.  3) Write five sentences of asking prices.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Captains check WB page 37.  Go over the answer key.  2) Practice writing prices on dry erase board.  3) Conversation questions start from tomorrow.  Early bird volunteers are needed.
  2. 1) Teach new characters (多, 少, 賣, 蘋) with terms (多少, 買賣, 蘋果).
  3. Read text passages on page 55.
  4. Explain sentence pattern: 1) singular item < 多少錢 >?  2) < item > < one unit > 多少錢? 3) < item > 多少錢 < one unit >? 4)  < one unit > < item >多少錢? 5) < item > 怎麼賣?

Procedure for MS 3P (2/16/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to prepare oral presentation by building sentences #1-#3 today.  2) Students will be able to continue to explore tangram pieces game today.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers (character writing).  2) Makeup work (Colin, Mat, Liberty/Nicole/Dan, Nate M., Jake: writing).
  2. 1) Quick review (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei).  2) Pass out the oral presentation sentence patterns.
  3. Teach new terms (sui, jia, you, ge ren).
  4. Build sentences #1, #2 & #3.
  5. Culture reading: family size and how to address family members.
  6. Tangram pieces.

Procedure for MS 5P (2/16/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to use counting words for various animals.  2) Students will be able to apply learned terms and sentence patterns to a skit.  3) Students will be able to learn a song.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Draft your skit.  Due/perform on next Wednesday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Song lyrics & one copy of skit checklist.  2) Makeup work (Kate: family paragraph; Cole: audacity/video quiz/character definitions; Jacqueline: Web quest).  3) Quick review (狗, 貓, 鳥, 金, 魚).  4) Go over skit checklist.
  2. 1) Teach new characters (馬, 隻, 條, 匹).  2) Go over text passage on page 54.
  3. Song time: Two Tigers.
  4. Pair practice: 1) Practice simple phrases (# counting word animals).  2) Complete your review grammar sheet.  Go over the answer key.  Collect.  3) Brainstorm your skit.
