Procedures for 2/3/11

Procedure for HS 1P (2/3/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to do an oral presentation to introduce their family.  2) Students will be able to introduce themselves in various ways.  3) Students will be able to sharpen their reading/speaking skills through reading text passages.

Homework: WB page 39 interview questions only.

Procedure:

1.      1) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 38.  2) Go over the answer key.  3) Makeup work?  4) Please bring your course recommendation form if you would like to continue on Chinese II class.  5) Caroling: next Tuesday.  6) Lesson Six chapter test: Wednesday/Thursday, 2/10 or 2/9.

2.      1) Teach new characters (姓, 名, 字, 呢) with terms (姓名, 名字).

3.      Oral presentation.

4.      1) Divide into three groups of five students.  Assign a captain.  2) Go over Mrs. Davidoff’s classroom procedure.

Procedure for HS 2P (2/3/11)

目標: 1) Students will be able to sharpen their writing, reading, speaking and listening skills through an interview activity.  2) Students will be able to gain oral/reading fluency through reading text passages and conversation practice.

功課: WB page 18 #7 & WB page 20.

程序:

1.      1) Turn in your 4-sentence H/W.  Homework (Ben-pages 17/18).  2) Caroling is postponed to next Tuesday, 2/8/11.  3) Quick review: Round robin reading + conversation questions.

2.      Round robin reading text passage on page 19.

3.      Review terms (美術館, 科學館, 左右, 怎麼 (verb), 可以 = 行, 知道, 哪裡, (哪裡, 哪裡), 哪一個 =哪個, 哪一國人= 哪國人, 哪一件 = 哪件, 要不要 (verb) = 要 (verb) 嗎, 校門口, 畫展, 換, 站, 用, 下車).

4.      Pair work: Class work: WB page 19 (writing down four questions, interviewing classmates, and then sharing results).

5.      1) Divide into two groups of three-four students.  Assign a captain.  2) Go over Mrs. Davidoff’s classroom procedure.

Procedure for HS 9P (2/3/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to complete all class work: 2 and 4 sentences.  2) Students will be able to get familiar with tomorrow’s expectations and procedure.

Homework: 1) WB page 31.  2) Practice reading pages 44-45.  3) Practice answering question to express opinion or describing how clothes fit.  4) Practice Happy New Year song.        

Procedure:

1.      1) Missing 2-sentence homework?  Turn in your 5-sentence pair work.  2) Caroling is postponed to next Tuesday.

2.      1) Return papers.  2) Complete all assignments.  3) Course recommendation.

3.      1) Divide into two groups of four-five students.  Assign a captain.  2) Go over Mrs. Davidoff’s classroom procedure and checklist.

Procedure for MS 3P (2/3/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to acquire more greeting terms.  2) Students will be able to complete simple Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Review all learned terms.  2) Practice/complete your skit.

Procedure:

1.      1) Quiz #2 is postponed to next Tuesday.  2) Quick review of greeting terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zhang Lao Shi, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi, Wu An, Wan An).  3) Quick review of Chinese characters (sun, moon, person/people, mountain, fire, tree).  4) Makeup work (7B students: cutting paper patterns—due tomorrow).  5) Go over oral presentation requirements.

2.      1) Teach new terms (Zao, Ni Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao, Tong Xue Men Hao).  2) Teach new characters (water, mouth).  Collect.

3.      Skit preparation.  Present tomorrow (7B will be last group to present).

4.      Culture reading: Introduction to China (pages 3-4).

Procedure for MS 5P (2/3/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to introduce themselves in various ways.  2) Students will be able to do an oral presentation to introduce their family.  3) Students will be able to acquire new characters and finish up Lesson Six.

Homework: WB page 40.

Procedure:

1.      1) Song time.  Caroling: next Tuesday.  Lesson Six chapter test: Thursday, 2/10.  Audacity: Wednesday, 2/9/11.  2) Makeup work (Kate? Brandon H., Cole).  3) Divide into four groups of five students and two groups of six students.  Assign a captain for each group.  4) Go over Mrs. Beech’s classroom procedure.  5) Video.

2.      Oral presentation.

3.      Teach new term (保, 羅, 麗) with term (保護).
