Procedures for 3/9/11

Procedure for HS 1P (3/9/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to name various countries, languages and nationalities.  Homework: Write new characters.  Know these characters by Friday, 3/11/11.   

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (中國, 中文, 中國人, 美國, 美國人, 英國, 英國人, 英文, 美人, 國家).  2) Missing PPT assignment (Paul/Darian: definitions; PPT: Joe, Abdussamad, Jack, Darian ).  3) Action items (title, pictures w/compression, fixing all mistakes permanently, etc).
  2. Teach new characters (會, 說, 本, 拿, 哪) with terms (加拿大, 加拿大人, 日本, 日本人, 日文, 哪國人).
  3. Conversation questions.

Procedure for HS 2P (3/9/11)

目標: Students will be able to gain oral fluency and listening proficiency. 

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Study for chapter test on Friday. 

程序:

  1. Teach new characters (迷, 遊/游, 覽/览, 約/约, 千) with terms (迷路, 迷人, 路人, 遊覽車, 遊/游客, 大約, 歌迷, 影迷).
  2. 1) Round robin reading: second half of page 24.  Count for grade today.  2) Practice reading second half of text passages on page 24.
  3. Pair activity: Study pages 28-31.  Questions?

Procedure for HS 9P (3/9/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to name various items and places.  2) Students will be able to gain reading/oral fluency. 

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Study for quiz #2.  3) WB page 38.    

Procedure:

1.   1) Turn in your WB page 41.  2) Quick review (帽子, 香蕉, 橘子, 鳳梨, 蘋果, 水果, 百貨公司, 便宜, 地圖, 草莓, 貴, 荔枝, 市場, 可是, 不錯, 書店, 字典, 一共, 雜誌, 報紙).

2.  Teach new terms (店, 雜, 誌, 葡萄) with terms (書店, 雜誌/杂志, 日誌, 雜/杂貨店, 花店, 飯店/饭店).

3.   Oral presentation.

4.   Seat work: WB page 38 Section C.  Complete as homework tonight.

Procedure for MS 3P (3/9/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn simple Chinese characters.  2) Students will be able to learn basic greeting terms.  3) Students will be able to know Ms. Chang’s grading policy.

Homework: 1) Write Chinese characters.  2) Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your signature slip, if any.  2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi).
  2. 1) Go over Ms. Chang’s grading policy.  2) Teach new terms (Zai Jian, Zhang Lao Shi, Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao, Ni Zao).
  3. Introduce Chinese class activities.
  4. 1) Pass out / introduce format of square papers.  2) Teach simple characters (日, 月).

Procedure for MS 5P (3/9/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to name various countries, languages and nationalities.  2) Students will be able to gain oral fluency and listening skill. 

Homework: Write new characters.  Know these characters by Friday, 3/11/11.    

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (中國, 中文, 中國人, 美國, 美國人, 英國, 英國人, 英文, 美人, 國家).  2) Browse through Lesson Eight content.  3) Missing PPT assignment (Anthony, Marissa, Keiichi, Ryan, Alex, Vicky, Jordan, Cole).  4) Action items (title, pictures w/compression, fixing mistakes, etc).
  2. Teach new characters (會, 說, 本, 拿, 哪) with terms (加拿大, 加拿大人, 日本, 日本人, 日文, 哪國人). 
  3. Conversation questions.
