Procedure for HS 1P (3/17/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to express their nationality and language skill orally and in written format.  

Homework: 1) Practice reading text passages on pages 66-69.  2) WB pages 49/52.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Get one copy of Lesson Eight Study Guide.  2) Go over study guide.
  2. Round robin reading text passages on pages 66-69. 
  3. 1) Listening activity: WB page 50 Section B.  2) Go over answer key. 
  4. Practice writing problems. 

Procedure for HS 2P (3/17/11)

目標: Students will be able to compare/contract cultural differences between America and China.

功課: Complete movie discussion questions.

  1. 1) Take one copy of Movie Discussion Questions and Story Map.  2) Go over Story Map.  3) Makeup work (Alex, Kaitlyn).
  2. Poem reading.
  3. DVD viewing.

Procedure for HS 9P (3/17/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to express money and ask about prices and the availability of goods.

功課: Study!!

Procedure:

  1. Read text passages on pages 55-61.
    1. Practice writing problems (expressing money and asking about prices and totals).

Procedure for MS 3P (3/17/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to gain geographical knowledge about the Great of China.  2) Students will be able to apply gain cultural knowledge about the legends of zodiac animals and giant panda.  3) Students will be able to know the significance of learning Chinese now.

Homework: 1) Review learned greeting terms.  2) Memorize your skit for your performance next Monday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return China reading packet.  2) Makeup work (Nick, Amal and Phoenix).
  2. Pair practice: skit.
  3. Culture reading: “The twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac,” “Why these twelve animals?” and “The giant panda.”
  4. DVD: Great Wall.
  5. DVD: “Learning Chinese in American Schools”, if time allows.

  4. Assign pen pal.  / Seat work: WB page 49/52 / Pen pal letter / Practice reading text passages.
