Procedures for 3/23/11

Procedure for HS 1P (3/23/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to name various sports.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural / geographic knowledge about the Qing-Zang Highway in China. 

Homework: Write new characters. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your Lesson Nine character definitions.  2) Makeup work (Abdussamad, Abby: Chapter test, WB page 54 & Lesson Eight characters worksheet + audacity; Ellen/Darian: audacity).  3) Return papers (Lesson Eight characters worksheet, chapter test, etc).  Collect.
  2. Teach new characters (籃, 球, 足, 棒) with terms (籃球, 足球, 棒球).
  3. DVD: Man Made Marvels: The World’s Highest Railway.

Procedure for HS 2P (3/23/11)

目標: Students will be able to compare/contrast cultural differences between China and America. 

功課: Complete movie discussion questions.

程序:

  1. 1) Quick review (活, 又, 目, 無, 聊, 生活, 課外生活, 又…又, 節目, 電視節目, 無聊, 聊天, 活的 <=> 死的).  2) Choose to recite poems before or after spring break.
  2. DVD: A Great Wall.

Procedure for HS 9P (3/23/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to express their address and phone numbers.  2) Students will be able to sharpen their cite reading and speaking skills. 

功課: Practice reading Lesson Five text passages. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your Lesson Six character definitions.  2) Makeup work (Adam Y., Antonio).  3) Return papers (Lesson Five characters worksheet, chapter test).  3) Browse through Lessons Six and Seven contents.
  2. 1) Cultural reading: text passages on page 69.  2) Round robin reading Lesson Five text passages.

Procedure for MS 3P (3/23/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to count numbers from 0-100.  2) Students will be able to brainstorm ideas for their art project.

Homework: 1) Complete write new characters.  2) Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi).  2) Teach new terms (ling, bai) with characters.  3) Skit performance (Jonah, Lauren, Julia, Stephanie, Savannah, Phoenix).
  2. 1) Teach Chinese counting principle.  2) Counting numbers from 0 to 99.
  3. Listening activity: music for numbers.

**  Tornado drill at 9:50 AM today.

Procedure for MS 5P (3/23/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to name various sports.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural knowledge about ancient China. 

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Complete Crossword/Word Find worksheet.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your Lesson Nine character definitions.  2) Return papers (Lesson Eight characters worksheet, chapter test).  3) Makeup work (Rachel K.: audacity)
  2. Teach new characters (籃, 球, 足, 棒, 網) with terms (籃球, 足球, 棒球, 網球).
  3. Pair activity: Ancient China reading packet (Matching / Sentences).
