Procedures for 3/24/11

Procedure for HS 1P (3/24/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to name various sports.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural / technical knowledge about Qing-Zang Highway in China.

Homework: Review all learned characters during spring break.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (籃球, 足球, 棒球).  2) Makeup work (Abby: WB page 54 + Lesson Nine character definitions; Abdussamad: Lesson Eight/Nine worksheets + audacity + chapter test + WB page 54).  3) Draw a number and change seats for 4th quarter.  5) Return papers.
  2. Simple conversation questions.
  3. DVD: Man Made Marvels: The World’s Highest Railway.
  4. Have a wonderful spring break.  See you on Monday, 4/4/11.

Procedure for HS 2P (3/24/11)

目標: 1) Students will be able to compare/contrast cultural differences between China and America.  2) Students will be able to name various TV programs.  3) Students will be able to brainstorm ideas for their project. 

功課: Submit your movie discussion questions by midnight tonight. 

程序:

  1. 1) Quick review (活, 又, 目, 無, 聊, 生活, 課外生活, 又…又, 節目, 電視節目, 無聊, 聊天, 活的 <=> 死的).  2) Change seats?  3) Makeup work (Ben: WB pages 42/46).  4) Return papers.
  2. Teach new characters (兒, 童, 頻, 卡, 通) with terms (教育, 兒子, 女兒, 兒童, 頻道, 頻頻, 卡通, 信用卡, 通通).
  3. DVD: A Great Wall.
  4. Have a wonderful spring break.  See you on Monday, 4/4/11.

Procedure for HS 9P (3/24/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to gain cultural / technical knowledge about Qing-Zang Highway in China.  2) Students will be able to describe their address and phone numbers.

功課: Write new characters. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Teach new characters (拜, 訪, 空, 玩, 住) with terms (拜訪, 拜年, 訪問, 空間, 天空).
  2. 1) Round robin reading Lesson Five text passages.  3) Makeup work (Antonio: WB page 40; Benita/Adam Y.: definitions).  4) Return papers.  5) Change seats.  Draw a number and move.

Procedure for MS 3P (3/24/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to explore origami.  2) Students will be able say/read numbers in Chinese fluently.  3) Students will be able to brainstorm more ideas about their art project.

Homework: 1) Complete writing new characters.  2) Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi, ling, bai) with Chinese characters.  2) Makeup work (Phoenix / Julia: China reading packet + quiz #1).  3) Return papers.
  2. Teach Chinese counting principle.  Count from zero to one hundred.  Challenging questions.
  3. Showcase more art project samples (movie, baked goods).
  4. Origami: pinwheel.
  5. Have a wonderful spring break.  See you on Monday, 4/4/11.

Procedure for MS 5P (3/24/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to name various sports.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural / technical knowledge about Qing-Zang Highway in China.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Review all learned characters during spring break.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (籃球, 足球, 棒球).  2) Makeup work (Rachel K. / Kate: WB page 54; Cole: worksheet + WB page 54).  3) Ted, please draw a number for your 4th quarter’s new seat.  4) Make sure you turn in all ancient China worksheets.
  2. Pair activity: 1) practice conversation questions.  2) Q/A session.
  3. DVD: Man Made Marvels: The World’s Highest Railway.
