Procedure for HS 1P (4/29/11)
Objective: 1) Students will be able to write/talk about their birthday. 2) Students will be able to introduce their friends, to talk about the grade they are in, and to describe facial features.
Homework: WB page 66.
Procedure:
- 1) Quick review (上學, 上班, 上網, 年級, 學校, 同學 ó 學生, 同校, 同班, 校車, 眼睛, 耳朵, 鼻子, 眉毛, 頭, 頭髮, 嘴巴=口, 臉, 長, 短, 朋, 友). 2) Makeup work (Claire, Josh). 3) Lesson Eleven chapter test: Friday, 5/6/11. 4) Will e-mail you today’s class note.
- Listening activity: WB page 64 / Section C. Go over the answer key.
- 1) Teach Chinese date format. Write a sentence about your birthday. 2) Go over sample sentences of describing yourself (Physical appearance).
- DVD: Manmade Wonder: Taipei 101.
Procedure for HS 2P (4/29/11)
Objective: 1) Students will be able to familiarize themselves with various TV programs, movie and music genres. 2) Students will polish their writing, speaking and listening skills.
Homework: 1) Write new characters. 2) WB page 37 (2nd column).
Procedure:
- 1) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 37 (9 terms). 2) Go over answer key.
- Group activity (WB page 35).
- Round robin reading.
- Teach new characters (交, 響/响, 排, 橄, 欖/榄) with terms (交響樂/响乐, 歌劇/剧, 歌劇/剧院, 排球, 橄欖/榄球).

Objective: 1) Students will be able fluent in reading text passages. 2) Students will be able to hold a conversation in making telephone calls and visiting a friend.
Homework: 1) Practice reading text passages on pages 71-73 & 82-84. 2) Write new characters.
Procedure:
- 1) Ms. Chang checks your WB pages 53/64. 2) Return papers. 3) Makeup work (sentences). 4) Round robin reading: Monday, 5/2/11.
- Skit presentation (Eddie, Antonio / Colin, John).
- Teach new characters (夫, 題, 用, 擾) with terms (功夫, 功夫鞋, 大夫, 問題/问题, 題/题目, 沒問題/题, 有問題/题, 時間/时间, 不客氣/气, 別客氣/气, 不用客氣/气, 打擾/扰).
- Round robin reading: text pages 71-73 and 82-84.

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to know Ms. Chang’s classroom expectations and grading policy. 2) Students will be able to learn simple greeting terms.
Homework: 1) Review learned terms. 2) Signature slip due on Tuesday, 5/3/11.
Procedure:
- 1) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi). 3) Quiz #1: Friday, 5/13. 3) Due to OAA, the Exploratory class will be moved to regular 8P on Monday, 5/2.
- Go over Ms. Chang’s classroom rules / grading policy.

Homework: 11 sentences describing yourself (physical appearance + birthday). Due: Friday, 5/6/11.
Procedure:
- 1) Return papers. 2) Makeup work (PPT draft). 3) Quick review (朋友, 頭, 臉, 大/小/老/好/女/男朋友, 頭髮, 眼睛, 耳朵, 鼻子). 4) No Chinese class on Monday, 5/2/11.
- 1) Go over sample sentences (description). 2) Go over the birthday sentence. Write a sentence about your birthday. Will e-mail you class note.
- Seat work: 1) Construct your 11 sentences (physical appearance + birthday). 2) Read your PPT draft to a partner.
