Procedures for 4/4/11

Procedure for HS 1P (4/4/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to name various sports.  2) Students will be able to polish their speaking and listening skills.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Get and update your PPT file.

Procedure:

1.      1) Take one copy of Lesson Nine text passages.  2) Quick review (籃球, 籃子, 足球, 棒球, 球棒).

2.      Teach new characters (網, 游, 泳, 騎, 車, 打) with terms (網球, 球網, 網子, 魚網, 游泳, 騎車, 騎馬, 車子, 打字, 打工, 打球).

3.      Conversation questions practice.

 

Procedure for HS 2P (4/4/11)

 

目標: 1) Students will be able to compare/contrast cultural differences between China and America.  2) Students will be able to name various TV programs.

功課: 1) Write new characters. 2) Brainstorm your PPT ideas (terms and genres).

程序:

1.      1) Quick review (活, 又, 目, 無, 聊, 生活, 課外生活, 又…又, 節目, 電視節目, 無聊, 聊天, 活的 <=> 死的, 兒, 童, 頻, 卡, 通, 教育, 兒子, 女兒, 兒童, 頻道, 頻頻, 卡通, 信用卡, 通通). 2) Review sports terms (籃球, 足球, 網球, 棒球, 游泳, 跑步, 乒乓球, 騎車, 騎馬).  3) Return Movie Discussion Questions papers.

2.      1) Showcase Lesson Three sample PPT work.  2) Share results of Movie Discussion Questions.

3.      Teach new characters (記, 片, 聞) with terms (記錄片, 唱片, 日記, 一片蛋糕, 新聞, 天氣預報).

 

 

Procedure for HS 9P (4/4/11)

 

Objectives: Students will be able to hold a basic conversation when visiting friends.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) WB page 86.

Procedure:

1.      1) Draw a number and change seats.  2) Quick review (拜, 訪, 空, 玩, 住, 拜訪, 拜年, 訪問, 空間, 天空).  3) Return papers.

2.      Teach new characters (錄, 帶, 號, 碼, 街) with terms (錄影, 錄音, 錄影帶, 號碼, 街道).

3.      Go over text pages 75-76—ask about telephone number, where someone lives, and availability / Q & A conversation session.

4.      Dictation: phone numbers on dry erase board.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P (4/4/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review for quiz #2 tomorrow.  2) Students will be able say/read numbers in Chinese fluently.

Homework: Study for quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.      1) Quick review (yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi, ling, bai) with Chinese characters and 8 simple Chinese characters.  2) Quiz #2 tomorrow.  Turn in your 12-Chinese character writing assignment tomorrow.

2.      Review Chinese counting principle.

3.      Newspaper hunting activity.

4.      Connecting the dots activity.  Collect at the end of the class period.  Complete as homework tonight, if not done in class.

 

 

Procedure for MS 5P (4/4/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to hold a conversation on various topics (family, age, profession, pets, language and nationality).  2) Students will be able to name various sports.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Ancient China worksheet (sentences + matching).

Procedure:

1.      1) Take one copy of Lesson Nine text passages.  2) Quick review (籃球, 足球, 棒球, 網球).  3) Change seats.  Draw a number and move!  4) Work at media center on Thursday, 4/7/11.  5) Status of your pen pal letter?  Turn in your proof of e-mail by Wednesday.

2.      Teach new characters (游, 泳, 騎, 車, 打) with terms (網球, 球網, 網子, 魚網, 游泳, 騎車, 騎馬, 車子, 打字, 打工, 打球).

3.      Pair activity: Conversation practice / Return papers

4.      Pass out a copy of “Ancient China” worksheet—sentences / matching.

5.      Q/A session / Seat work: old/new Ancient China worksheets.  Turn in your missing assignments.
