Procedures for 4/11/11

Procedure for HS 1P (4/11/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to express their preferences.  2) Students will be able to polish their listening/speaking skills.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Text passages on pages 77-78.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Abdussamad, Stefan, Abby & Troy: listening comprehension + WB pages 56 + 58 (#1-#8); Josh: WB page 58 (#1-#8).  2) Quick review (籃球, 足球, 棒球, 網球, 游泳, 騎車, 跑步, 乒乓球, 打, 踢, 喜歡/欢, 最, 運動/运动, 最不喜歡/欢 => 不喜歡/欢 => 喜歡/欢 => 最喜歡/欢).  3) Lesson Nine chapter test: Monday, 4/18/11; Audacity recording: Friday, 4/15).
  2. Read text passage on pages 77-78.
  3. Teach new characters (去, 喂, 吧, 走, 忙).

 

Procedure for HS 2P (4/11/11)

 

Objectives: Students will be able to review learned vocabulary and polish their listening skill.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Brainstorm your PPT.

Procedure:

  1. Independent work: 1) Turn in your 4-sentence assignment (Cecilia, Alex, Kaitlyn).  2) Ms. Chang checks your WB pages 29 + 32.  3) Go over the answer key.  3) Read text page 38.  2) Recite poems.
  2. 1) Quick review (生活, 課外生活, 又…又, 節目, 電視節目, 無聊, 聊天, 活的, 死的, 兒 童, 教育, 兒子, 女兒, 頻道, 頻頻, 卡通, 信用卡, 通通, 教育節目, 兒童節目, 體育節目, 新聞, 天氣預報, 記錄片, 歷史片, 音樂會, 連續劇, 舞台劇, 歌劇, 劇本, 喜劇, 聽說, 意思, 整人, 一整天,每天, 每个人, 每个月, 每个星期,  谈恋爱, 吵架, 打架, 吵).

Procedure for HS 9P (4/11/11)

 

Objectives: Students will be able to invite friends for an activity, accept / decline an invitation and answer questions about availability.  2) Students will be able to hold a conversation when visiting a family.

Homework: Brainstorm your skit with your parner(s).

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers (WB page 86 + paragraphs).  Good job: Lillian, Kathryn, Jay, Claire, Ryan, Antonio, Heidi, Aashna, & Benita.  2) Makeup work (Anthony: writing paragraphs + WB pages 47-48-49).
  2. 1) Captains check WB pages 49.  3) Go over the answer key.
  3. 1) Quick review (拜, 訪, 空, 玩, 住, 錄, 帶, 號/号, 碼/码, 街, 皇, 后, 事, 位, 等, 喝茶, 马上, 介绍, 叔叔, 阿姨, 姨妈).
  4. 1) Round robin reading: text page 70.  2) Read text passages on pages 71-72/82-83.
  5. Pair/Group with your partner(s).  Turn in your list of members.  Brainstorm your ideas.  Due in two weeks (4/26/11).  Present on 4/26-4/29.

 

Procedure for MS 3P (4/11/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to talk about their phone number and address.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural/geographic knowledge about places in China.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return oral presentation draft #1.  2) Makeup work (Phoenix/Savannah: draft#1).  3) Get strips and make flash cards (Phoenix; white and green strips).  Check for grades.  4) Quiz #3 tomorrow.
  2. Quick review (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, sui, jia, you, ge ren, he, de, shengri, nian).
  3. 1) Pair practice reading all 5 sentences.  2) Teach phone number/address formats.  Write sentences 6 and 7.
  4. Video clips: Chinese rapping song / Speak another language.

 

 

Procedure MS 5P (4/11/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to express their preferences.  2) Students will be able to polish their listening/speaking skills.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Cole: WB pages 76 + 56 + 58 (#1-#8); Jordan: WB pages 56 + 58 (#1-#8); Ted: WB pages 56 + 58 (#1-#8) + Ancient China worksheet (Sentences + Matching) + Listening comprehension + WB listening comprehension; Brandon S.: WB page 58).  2) Lesson Nine audacity recording: Wednesday, 4/20/11; Chapter test: Thursday, 4/21/11.
