Procedures for 4/12/11

Procedure for HS 1P (4/12/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to express their preferences.  2) Students will be able to polish their listening/speaking/writing skills.

Homework: 1) WB page 60 / Section G.  2) Text passages on pages 77-79.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Abdussamad, Stefan, Abby & Troy: listening comprehension + WB pages 56 + 58 (#1-#8) ; Josh: WB page 58 (#1-#8); 2) Quick review (籃球, 足球, 棒球, 網球, 游泳, 騎車, 跑步, 乒乓球, 打, 踢, 喜歡/欢, 最, 運動/运动, 最不喜歡/欢 => 不喜歡/欢 => 喜歡/欢 => 最喜歡/欢, 去, 喂, 吧, 走, 忙).
  2. Read text passage on pages 77-79.
  3. 1) Interview activity: WB page 59.  Share your results.  2) Listening activity: WB page 60.  Go over the answer key.  3) Conversation question practice.

 

Procedure for HS 2P (4/12/11)

 

Objectives: Students will be able to review learned vocabulary and polish their listening skill.

Homework: Write new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Cecilia, Alex, Kaitlyn, Ben).  2) Round robin reading text page 38.  .
  2. 1) Quick review (生活, 課外生活, 又…又, 節目, 電視節目, 無聊, 聊天, 活的, 死的, 兒 童, 教育, 兒子, 女兒, 頻道, 頻頻, 卡通, 信用卡, 通通, 教育節目, 兒童節目, 體育節目, 新聞, 天氣預報, 記錄片, 歷史片, 音樂會, 連續劇, 舞台劇, 歌劇, 劇本, 喜劇, 聽說, 意思, 整人, 一整天,每天, 每个人, 每个月, 每个星期,  谈恋爱, 吵架, 打架, 吵).

  5. Seat work: 1) WB page 39 #1-#4.  Check.  2) Make sentences (聽說, 一整天).  Collect.

 

Procedure for HS 9P (4/12/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to brainstorm ideas for their skit.  2) Students will be able to hold a conversation when making a phone call.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Text passages on pages 71-72.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Skit checklist.  2) Quick review (拜, 訪, 空, 玩, 住, 錄, 帶, 號/号, 碼/码, 街, 皇, 后, 事, 位, 等, 喝茶, 马上, 介绍, 叔叔, 阿姨, 姨妈).  3) Round robin reading pages 71-72: Friday, 4/14.  4) Work at media center on Friday, 4/15.
  2. 1) Read text passages on pages 71-72.  2) Teach new characters (矽, 谷,  父, 母, 亲) with terms (山谷, 父母, 父亲, 母亲, 双亲, 亲: verb/adjective).
  3. Pair/Group work: brainstorm your skit.

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P (4/12/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to talk about their preferences of animals and sports.  2) Students will be able to showcase their mastery of unit #3.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, sui, jia, you, ge ren, he, de, shengri, nian).  2) Quiz #3.
  2. 1) Practice reading sentences 6 and 7.  2) Teach new terms (xi huan, zui).
  3. Pass out / go over sports and animals handouts.  Pick out terms for sports.  Any supplementary terms?
  4. Write sentences #8-#9.

 

Middle School 8th graders will visit DC from 4/12 to 4/15/11
