Procedures for 4/13/11

Procedure for HS 1P (4/13/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to talk about their favorite sports, to invite people to play sport.

Homework: WB pages 58 (#9-#13) + 62.


  1. 1) Makeup work (Abdussamad: listening comprehension + WB pages 56 + 58 (#1-#8).  2) Quick review (籃球, 足球, 棒球, 網球, 游泳, 騎車, 跑步, 乒乓球, 打, 踢, 喜歡/欢, 最, 運動/运动, 最不喜歡/欢 => 不喜歡/欢 => 喜歡/欢 => 最喜歡/欢, 去, 喂, 吧, 走, 忙).  3) Lesson Nine chapter test: Monday, 4/18/11; Audacity recording: Friday, 4/15.  4) Ms. Chang checks your WB pages 60-61.  5) Go over the answer key.
  2. 1) Read text passages on pages 77-79.  2) Reading comprehension: text page 83.  3) Go over sentence pattern on page 83.
  3. Class work: 1) Conversation question practice (second half).  2) Practice saying activity from the Sports Wheel.  3) Write sentences about your favorite sports and your skill for your PPT.


Procedure for HS 2P (4/13/11)


Objectives: Students will be able to review learned vocabulary and polish their listening skill.

Homework: 1) Study vocabulary for quiz.  2) Brainstorm your PPT.  3) WB page 38 (#1-#4).


  1. Ms. Chang checks your WB page 39 #1-#4.  Turn in your two sentences (聽說, 一整天).
  2. Independent work: 1) Turn in your 4-sentence assignment (Kaitlyn).  2) Ms. Chang checks your WB pages 29 + 32 (Alex).

Procedure for HS 9P (4/13/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to invite friends for an activity, accept / decline an invitation and answer questions about availability.  2) Students will be able to hold a conversation when visiting a family.

Homework: 1) Brainstorm your skit with your partner(s).  2) WB page 57.


  1. 1) Skit is due in two weeks (4/26/11).  Present on 4/26-4/29.  2) Meet at the media center on Friday, 4/15 and Thursday, 4/21.  3) Return papers.  4) Makeup work (Colin, Anthony, John, Kathryn).
  2. Read text page 82-84/70-72.  2) Go over text passages on page 85.
  3. Conversation activities: Inviting / Declining w/excuse.

Procedure for MS 3P (4/13/11)


Objectives: 1) Students will be able to talk about their preferences of animals and sports.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural knowledge about Chinese names and Chinese finger guessing game.

Homework: Review learned terms.


  1. 1) Write pinyin and characters on black flash cards.  2) Quiz #4: Tuesday, 4/19.  3) Introduce China Bridge summer program.
  2. 1) Quick review (xi huan).  2) Teach new terms (hong se, huang se, hei se, bai se).  3) Teach supplementary terms for animals/sports.
  3. 1) Build sentences #8-#9.  2) Pair reading: sentences #1-#9.
  4. Finger guessing game: rock, scissors, and paper.
  5. Culture reading: Chinese names.
